Hello Dear Readers!
It’s a great day today as it is Floral Friday, when I join my lovely and talented
friends, Lidy (French Garden House) Mary (Home Is Where The Boat Is)
and Pam (Everyday Living), to bring you some great floral inspiration.
Today we are transitioning to Fall. Keeping that little bit of summer that is left
and easing gently into Fall.
At the end of this post, you will find the gorgeous images and links
of our Floral Friday group. Just click on the link and it will bring you
to each person’s post where you will enjoy and gain such magnificent floral beauty!
Last year, I used lots of plum/purple in my Fall decor.
So I decided the color that I would use to transition and ease into Fall,
would be lavender with white, and green.
I packed most of my Longaberger baskets away and kept a few to use at Berry Patch.
One of those baskets is this beautifully shaped one that is the Longaberger,
2000 October Fields Basket.
The lid of this basket is so pretty that I decided to include it in the Fall vignette.
For most of my Floral Friday posts and arrangements that I have around the house,
I obtain my flowers from Trader Joe’s. I do this, as the cost to make an arrangement
such as this one is so very reasonable.
The cost to create this arrangement was under $20.00.
So for less than $20.00, you can create a wonderful basketful of happiness!
I felt that there was not enough texture in the arrangement.
I wanted to have the softer shades of easing into Fall, but needed something
to make the arrangement pop.
I added a pretty caramel colored linen wired ribbon and weaved it in and out
of the arrangement and it was just the color and texture
and a bit of charm that I was going for. I started weaving the ribbon in-between the flowers
beginning at the top and when I got to the base of the basket, I tucked
the ribbon in at the base and left a ribbon tail to cascade down the basket.
I repeated the same procedure to the other side of the arrangement.
After adding the ribbon, I stood back and thought that the arrangement needed just
a little something more….I looked at the lavender roses and had an epiphany!
I can add stems of the wonderfully fragrant dried lavender. . . and I did!
With the colors of the arrangement that I had in mind, I was happy to see that there
were hydrangeas at Trader Joe’s with the lavender and green blooms!
I made certain that I not pack away all of my seasonal decor.
I love these pretty little leaf shaped dishes by Lenox and they have been a
staple in my Fall decor for years.
The fall inspired potpourri with little pods shaped like pumpkins
that I found several years ago was love at first sight.
Rather than using a runner or a tablecloth for the table, I decided to do something different.
Always trying to think out of the box, I used the same linen wired ribbon
and weaved it throughout the items on the table.
The wood carved pumpkins have been another staple in my Fall decor.
I purchased these years ago and have not seen them again in any stores since.
For our next Floral Friday, I hope to bring you a step by step of my floral creation.
Lack of time prevented me from doing it this week as I had planned.
Hope you enjoyed my transition to Fall arrangement as much as I enjoyed creating it!
Now it is time to visit the lovely and most creative ladies of Floral Friday.
