Hello Dear Readers!
I know it is not quite Fall yet; however, I purchased Fall mums quite early.
As soon as my favorite garden center, Dales Greenhouse in Sanford, N.C., brought out
their mums, I was there lickity split as I was participating in a Fall Tour hosted
by the lovely Angie of Postcards From the Ridge.
I was to present my Fall Porch on Friday; however, I was a bit concerned that I would not
be able to participate much if I lost power due to the storm; therefore,
I had to bow out at the last minute.
So here I am today, presenting my Fall Porch.
The first decorated porch of the Berry Patch House.
When I went to the garden center, the mums were magnificent.
They were just budding out . . . so you will see that the mums on the porch
are not fully in bloom.
It was a bit different for me fluffing the porch for Fall this year.
The first time for me at the Berry Patch House.
Hopefully, I will be decorating the new house for Fall next year!
At the garden center, the mums are of such high quality as he grows his own.
The large blue pots were on the Veranda at our previous home
and they are now on the front porch
holding beautiful mums that are 30 inches in circumference.
Luckily, this vintage plant stand was not in the storage unit (which we have yet to empty)
so I was able to use it on the porch for displaying the smaller mums.
I am sure those of you who have seen my porch decorated previously in my former home,
will notice that the same outdoor furniture is on the Berry Patch House porch.
Earlier in the week, while I was at the grocery store for hurricane prep supplies,
they had a huge bin of heirloom pumpkins. Perfect! No need to truck to the Farmers Market
in which I was trying to figure out how I was going to work it in the schedule.
There wasn’t a huge variety and not many with pretty stems, but the price was right
and it was very convenient for me so that I could finish up the porch.
I was happy to quickly find this pillow in the closet that has bags and bags of pillows.
It was as though it was meant to be to use this pillow that was in the first bag I untied!
I had brought all of the throws over to the Berry Patch house on its hangers,
knowing that I will need them throughout our stay at Berry Patch.
I usually go a bit crazy on the pumpkins for Fall, but under the circumstances,
just a few here and there are just enough for now.
These pumpkins are safely in the garage now….just waiting for Florence’s departure!
They greet friends and family along with this beautiful wreath from Balsam Hill.
It is actually a garland that I received a couple of years ago and I attached it to
a grapevine wreath. It was previously tucked into a vintage tool box. Love it!
Here is how it was originally utilized:

I am already thinking about the porch in the new house. It will be
one that I have always wanted! 🙂
We have not broken ground yet. Meeting with the Architectural Review Board next week
so that they can approve our foundation plan. So many approvals with every step.
I also enjoyed the view of the porch from indoors . . . from the dining room and kitchen.
The Berry Patch House sits on acreage and our views are quite pretty
from both the front and back of the house.
For those still in the path of Hurricane Florence, our thoughts and prayers continue
to be with you. Such awful destruction already and it is not over.
We are very fortunate (at this moment) to still have power while others around us do not.
I know that we will be installing a whole house generator in the new house!!
