Hello Dear Readers!
Today is a very special Friday as it is the third Friday of the month
and that means it is Floral Friday! I am joining the incredibly talented team
of Floral Friday friends, Lidy, Mary and Pam. If you are visiting me from either one
of these sweet friends . . . welcome!
Our theme for today is Copper!
You will find Lidy’s, Mary’s and Pam’s links below.
Welcome to my Crazy for Copper – Floral Friday.
I have been recently scouring estate sales and consignment shops for copper pieces.
My favorite copper piece is a sweet berry basket that I purchased back in 1990
at a Country Living Craft Fair in Florida. …. a handmade, signed piece.
So today, I am presenting my floral arrangement in my very favorite copper piece.
Since I use a floral preservative in the water for the arrangement,
I did not want to expose that to the copper, so I placed two containers in the basket.
Knowing that I would be using a lot of stems/flowers,
I felt that there was no need for floral foam.
Flowers from Trader Joe’s (as usual).
I used peach spray roses, alstroemeria, mums, and I was lucky to find tulips!
Seeded eucalyptus used for a bit of color and texture.
I wanted to present my floral arrangement to include the copper that I have in the kitchen,
therefore, it is featured, rather unconventionally, on the stove.
It sits on top of a round bread board, a perfect base.
The copper kettle was a find at my favorite consignment shop (Always Home in Durham, NC)
and the copper long handled pan was a treasure from my trip to France years ago.
The small copper sauce pan is from HomeGoods.
I purchased 2 copper pots from France
the smaller one hangs on the other side of the stove.
I used large clear 3M Command hooks to hang the pots in the former house
and they seemed to work very well, so I decided to do the same in this house.
I grabbed some small potted mums (from Trader Joe’s too)
and placed them on each side of the stove to add more pretty to the counter.
The copper pots below are Williams-Sonoma (made in France)
that I found at an estate sale. There were only 2 pieces.
I mentioned that I was surprised to find tulips at Trader Joe’s.
I love how I could cascade them down the sides of the arrangement.
After I had staged the arrangement in the kitchen
my hubby asked me what’s up for dinner?
“I am serving up a beautiful dish that has a wonderful aroma of flowers!” 🙂
We ate out as the flowers were too pretty to take off the stove!
However, they later shuffled over Great Room!
So now it is time to visit my sweet and most talented friends of Floral Friday.
The links to their posts are below their beautiful images.
Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and enjoy!!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful …. right?!!!
I wish you all a most wonderful day and weekend!
I will be spending mine with the “Boys of Summer” in which I may change it to “Fall”
but this time we also get to enjoy the beach! …. however, it’s a tad chilly!
Have a great one!!!
