Hello Dear Readers!
I finally decked the halls in the Great Room and so anxious for you to see it.
Today is Day 2 of our Inaugural Monday Morning Blooms special tour!
I am joining my Monday Morning Blooms friends Lidy, Mary and Pam (Formerly Floral Friday)
and our new member Yvonne of StoneGable. A big welcome to Yvonne!!
And….to make our Inaugural debut of Monday Morning Blooms even more special
we have collaborated with Lynch Creek Farm featuring beautiful wreaths and centerpieces
and a fabulous GIVEAWAY!!
So come on in and welcome to the
Christmas Great Room Reveal ~ Monday Morning Blooms & A Giveaway!!!
The tour line-up is below along with the Giveaway details.
I chose the Silver Deluxe Wreath for the beautiful assortment of greenery
and its simplicity and a segway to the Great Room with tones of gray and silver.
I love it when I open the door and smell the beautiful fragrances of
Noble Fir, Juniper, Incense Cedar and Salal leaf.
Did you know that you can make your fresh wreath last longer by spritzing the back of the wreath
with water every 2 – 3 days? The evergreens will drink the water and you will find your wreath
to be beautifully more fragrant and last longer.
So step into my Great Room all decked for Christmas!
The first thing you will see is the mantel.
The mantel garland consists of a faux garland embellished with pine cones
and assorted greenery and faux evergreen swags at each end.
Because the garland is faux, I thought that I would add
some pretty seeded eucalyptus and baby’s breath.
I used to use baby’s breath in my fresh trees long ago.
That was back when my friend in Florida owned a florist shop and I received a great discount!
The tree looked like it had little puffs of snow on it.
The theme for the mantel is Silver Bells. I found these silver bell ornaments
a while ago and thought they would be perfect for the garland.
The ribbon of gold and gray (from the Southern Living Collection at Dillard’s)
was love at first sight!…and perfect for the Christmas Great Room.
I tried to keep the “mantelscape” simple having the garland be the star!
So a set of 3 silver trees and a silver ice bucket
(found recently at an estate sale) with an ivy wreath.
I chose the ivy wreath for its symbolism…even though it is not a Christmas wreath,
it still represents eternity as it has no beginning and no end ….an unending circle of life.
The evergreen in a Christmas wreath symbolizes growth and everlasting life.
Did you spy a beautiful arrangement on the coffee table?
It is the Snowberry Glow arrangement from Lynch Creek Farm.
If you have been a follower of mine for a while, you may have noticed that
I chose the very same arrangement last year. Does that mean I love it so?!!
Actually other than for its beauty, I love that this arrangement comes in a florist container.
That way I can easily slip it into the container of my choice….however it looks fabulous as is!!
I used my treasured blue and white container that was gifted to me by an old friend and colleague.
I remember the day she brought it to the office…
She was so excited to give this to me and so was I!
I have had this for way too many years that I would want to admit!
It was an antique of her family’s and she knew that I would love and cherish it and I do!
See the jeweled “JOY” pillow on the chair? Happy memories.
I get feelings of joy whenever I see that blue and white beauty!
The Christmas trees are in the back corner of the great room.
You can see more detail if you would like of these Christmas Trees.
by clicking on the highlighted words.
I purposely did not add any Christmas decor to the bookcases.
Since the mantel was a bit dramatic in the middle of this wall, I thought less is more.
Did I just say that?!!!
Just simple little vignettes like this one on the table between the sofa and chair.
I wanted softer colors in the Great Room this year mainly because of the blush colored sofa
that was formerly in the master bedroom.
So the soft grays in the pillows and my Silver Bells Mantel fit the bill.
All of the pillows on the sofa are from Pottery Barn.
The “JOY” pillow is from HomeGoods and the Joyeux Noel pillow from FrenchGardenHouse
You can see a bit of the dining room in the background of the next photo…
I am still working on that room; however, it shall be simply decorated for sure!
I surely hope that you enjoyed my Christmas Great Room at the Berry Patch house today.
I am really loving the mantel this year and the soft colors of the room.
