Hello Dear Readers!
I hope you all had a most Merry weekend. Our weekend was a special one
as we had our very first snow of the season. It was a Winter Wonderland of Snow.
About 6 to 8 inches of snow fell pretty much overnight,
and by the late afternoon it started melting due to the freezing rain.
Just hope it doesn’t turn to ice!
I have a couple of “snow photos” for you to see and
today, it is all about the Magnolia Foyer and a winner.
The foyer in the Berry Patch house is not large,
so simple Christmas decor is all it needs.
I have always loved Magnolia trees and their beautiful flowers.
I had lived most of my life in South Florida and always wished I had a Magnolia tree.
Then, when we moved to North Central Florida, the thought of Magnolias growing there was exciting!
Good thing Magnolia trees thrive in North Carolina.
Since I do not have a Magnolia tree now (but on my list for the new house)
a beautiful faux magnolia wreath and garland will have to do.
The magnolia garland (from Balsam Hill) simply wrapped around the antique Scottish scale
was just enough to add a festive look.
I did add a small ceramic tree and one of my favorite Santas
that was made in Germany.
Now I can just imagine this Santa walking through the snow bringing gifts and joy to someone.
This special Santa was gifted to me by my friend Martha and I bought the antique scale
from her vast antique collection that she was downsizing.
When I was taking photos of the backyard a.k.a. Winter Wonderland,
I had an epiphany…..I took the Santa, placed it on the ledge of the back patio staircase
and photographed it to give the illusion of Santa cross country skiing!
When I sent this photo to my sister to show her how much snow we had,
she stated, “wow, where did you get that large Santa?” … I had to explain to her
that it was just an illusion…camera trickery!
I took another photo of the backyard featuring the duo of evergreens
that reminded me of the duo of trees I decorated in the Great Room.
I hung the faux Magnolia wreath (from Balsam Hill) on my treasured antique Louis XVI mirror.
I love seeing my antique French buffet and mirror when I open the door!
And speaking of the Silver Deluxe Wreath … the winner of this wreath from Lynch Creek Farm is:
JoAnn M !!!! Congrats JoAnn …. you have won a most beautiful wreath!
And I want to thank you all for visiting and entering the giveaway!!!
I wish you all a Very Merry Day!!! Fa-la-la-la-la!
