Christmas Decor Recap and a Beautiful Giveaway

Hello Dear Readers!

By now you all must be finishing up your Christmas Holiday preparations.

I still have some things to take care of …. a little shopping

for gift giving and for meal preparations.

Today, I thought I would do my Christmas Decor Recap and a Beautiful Giveaway.

The “Beautiful” giveaway details will be at  the end of this post.

Welcome to my Christmas Recap/Tour of the Berry Patch House

and hopefully next year I will be decorating for Christmas at the new house!

Foyer-Housepitality Designs-5

I used to decorate two mantels in our former home….the Berry Patch house has only one

and was a joy to deck the mantel.

In the Great Room I created a duo of Christmas Trees.

I have always wanted to do this and thought of adding another one;

however, my space was limited.

I love that the trees have the option of changing from clear to pretty colored lights!

Rudy made another appearance this year … last year he was in the Sunroom

and this year he is on the porch greeting family and friends.

The Berry Patch House has a rather large sunroom.

The sunroom simply decorated with pillows and some of my favorite Santas.

In our former home, there were trees in almost every room.  Large trees and small trees.

Due to space and time constraints the only trees that I decorated were in the Great Room

and the Master Bedroom.

A small flocked tree placed in a large blue and white container sits in a corner

of the Master Bedroom.

The foyer was also simply decorated this year,

using pretty faux magnolia garland and wreath….next year I hope to use the real thing!

The dining room also received a little Christmas cheer with a White Christmas arrangement

as showcased in our bi-monthly Monday Morning Blooms blog tour.

  24. Hard to pick a favorite room in my house. My family room, hardwood floors, tan, buffalo check and country vibe, or the formal living room pale yellow walls, toile curtains, Chippendale and delft,or my library. A finished off room from the basement. A utility closet area had to be created but I made it long a flush wall. Two walls are a soft gold and the opposite walls and green, red, cream and gold plaid. I papered over the door to the utility closet (with a small doorknob to blend in)and I have what every library should have A SECRET DOOR! A mix of formal dark wood furniture styles and I got a great deal on the (Masterpiece Theater of old)Tufted leather wing chair. A faux fireplace, large and carved in Celtic designs( burns a real fire with gel cans) and over it a painting of a Scottish Castle.

That aside I got so many ideas from your post! I have the same fireplace set up in my family room and can fill in around the painting(which hides a tv)with greens.
I have a Rudy who never seemed to match the formal outside stuff.I never thought of bringing him to my rustic family room and giving him a Santa hat.
And I never thoughteither of bringing my wooden Erzgeberge wooden figure like you’re” trudging through the snow Santa”(loved the outdoor picture of him)down to my foyer which is going to be all winter white next year. Thanks!

I love that white flocked tree and the mantel is breathtaking. My living room is my favorite room of the house because I spend a lot of time there doing things I love. I read all my blogs on my computer, I have stitchy place for working on all my crafts-knit & crochet, embroider, sew on quilt bindings and talk with Mom. I would love a screened in all season room but we have a very small home which seems to have gotten smaller. I used to love my craft room but a relative down on their luck needed a place to stay so I gave up that room-it’s been 8 years so it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting that back anytime soon. I spent lots of time in that room making quilt tops. Have a great day!

Well I did it with the agreement that he would fix his house up to make it livable and here I sit 10 years later with a home I can’t decorate and is almost impossible to live in. Sigh…. Even my son hates coming to visit here and bring my only grandchild to see me! I see a Move and relocation in my future! lol. I look longingly at all your posts, your homes have been so beautifully decorated but lived in. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Shirley!
