Great Room Reveal Sneak Peeks

Hello Dear Readers!

I have been a little M.I.A. since the Monday Morning Blooms Valentine’s Day post.

We left last week for sunny Florida (with a little bit of rain)

as my hubby and the Boys of Summer had a tournament.

A Tournament of Champions and they won.

Now back home after being away for 6 days, I am trying to do some major catch up.

Today, in-between laundry and numerous other things, I took some quick photos to bring you the …..

GREAT ROOM REVEAL SNEAK PEEKS

I had ordered furniture for the Great Room in the new house about 5 months ago.

My former sofa, sofa table, and coffee table were purchased by the new homeowners.

So new furniture was needed … what a problem to have!

I could have had the furniture company keep the furnishings in their storage facility

for up to 12 months. But I truly needed comfy chairs for the hubby.

I had placed the sofa from the Master Bedroom in the Great Room along with the two

occasional chairs that were in the Great Room of the former house too.

My hubby said that there is a reason they are called “occasional chairs”

as they are meant to sit in “occasionally”!…funny guy!

The room as you can see from the “peeks” will be neutral allowing me to add

my pops of color that I so love.

Unfortunately for some reason the pillows on the back of the sofa arrived

incorrectly. They were flanged rather that welted.

The manufacturer has already been sent the order to have them re-made.

I still plan on revealing the room, even though the back cushions are not the correct ones,

as it may take a while to get them. If I had some furniture that my hubby could live with

as far as comfort, I would have delayed the appearance of this furniture,

until the move into  our “right-sized” home. However, at the rate we are going, it may be a while!

So excuse me for my absence.  When we travel to tournaments, the days start out very early

and by the time we get back to the hotel from dinner….this old lady has no energy

for screen time, not to mention  “brain time” !!

I wish you all a most beautiful day and a most amazing Valentine’s Day too!

I am sooooo loving the gold ‘pagoda style’ candle holder on the coffee table. Would you please source that for me? Loving the whole room so far. Can’t wait to see the rest!

Thanks Debra…I bought it in a shop on St. Simons Island a couple of years ago. The Pagoda Lantern is made by the company, “Two’s Company” A friend found it on-line.

You do what you have to do…play ball and use the new furniture early. Yes, hubby needs to be comfy that’s why mine has his beloved recliner. Have a good week and a Happy Valentines day.

Congrats to your hubby for his team’s success! Glad to hear I’m not the only one with low energy following long days (especially when the daylight is short, it seems to make matters seemingly worse). Your new room sneak peeks look sharp, and how about another peek / update into the project process of building. How are things going?

    Shirley,
Judging by the “Sneak Peeks” it looks beautiful! I adore that faux bamboo gold lamp on your sofa table. Do you remember where you purchased it? I also have some white pineapples identical to yours that I believe I found at HomeGoods. Congrats to your hubby on his teams win…Have a Happy Valentines Day!

Congrats on your hubby’s team win Shirley! Lovin’ your sneak peak and beautiful background blur photos. I hear you on the low energy at the end of a busy day. Sometimes just answering all those “where did you get…?” questions take too much energy for me 🙂 I bet you are so frustrated with your architectural review board by now. Keep us posted. ♥

What I see so far your Great Room will look lovely, Shirley! I am sorry I haven’t been over to visit in AGES… I lost my master list of friends/bloggers so am just recreating it now. 🙂 And… we too bought a new house here in Texas! It closes tomorrow and is basically a Valentine’s present to us. 😉 Hope your travels to tournaments is fun!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you and enjoy your new place until the right one is ready,
    Hugs,
    Barb 🙂

I’m still waiting for my furniture. It’s supposed to be on a truck coming any day now. I see the comment above indicates you’ve just broken ground- how fun! Hoping to see pics as your new home gets built!

The coffee table is exactly what we need. Is it an antique? If not, where would I get something similar?
