Hello Dear Readers!
Happy First Day of Spring!!!
To welcome in the First Day of Spring this year,
I thought I would do something special for my readers.
You know how much I love beautiful interior design books. . . . and yes,
I often give away a copy of my favorites to one lucky reader.
Well, today, I am giving away a most beautiful book by an incredibly talented designer,
Eric Ross. His designs are like classic songs . . .
songs that are sung for generations and generations, standing the test of time.
So sit back and enjoy the stunning photos (Photography by Even Krehbiel)
and you will be mesmerized by the a sampling of Eric Ross’ gorgeous homes
that he has designed for his clients.
ENDURING SOUTHERN HOMES – A BEAUTIFUL BOOK AND GIVEAWAY
(Details of the giveaway are below)
The Breakfast area at Boxwood Hill
I chose the first image of this post, which is Eric and Ruthann Ross’ Breakfast Room,
as my first/feature image, as it showcases the stunning linen press.
This linen press is a special piece that the designer, Eric Ross and his wife Ruthann purchased
at their first auction together.
They initially used it as a changing table/station for their daughter.
And need I say more about the adorable fur baby?!!
Below is more of the breakfast area and a glimpse into their beautiful kitchen.
They call their home, Boxwood Hill.
When I read “The Beginning” at the beginning of the book,
memories of me and my hubby during our dating time and early marriage years, and even now,
came rushing back. We so love looking at beautifully appointed homes and back then
it was “free entertainment” for a young married couple who from time to time,
drove around in the car at night, when our son had trouble sleeping!
As we looked at gorgeous homes, he was slowly falling asleep. A win-win.
Eric talks about how he as a young boy would love to ride his
bicycle through beautiful neighborhoods looking and pretty much studying
and admiring the wonderful stately homes.
My hubby studied architecture in college (not an architect) and he loves, as do I,
looking at beautifully appointed homes with great architectural details.
Maybe this is why we have changed our “right-sized” home plans many times.
Tweaking and more tweaking and even changed something just a couple of weeks ago.
Above and below are photos of Boxwood Hill’s Den. Be still my heart.
How would you like a most beautiful office like Eric’s wife, Ruthann?
Love the beautiful dramatic look of the french doors painted that lovely green,
as you enter Ruthann’s office.
This stunning Great Room (below) has beautiful upholstered walls, just one of the
many incredible textures throughout this room.
The book is divided into chapters of 12 homes (including his) in which Eric Ross has
designed the interiors….The photo above is in the Chapter called
The Suburban Chic Home …. and that it is!
Another beautiful room of both neutral and warm colors
in the Chapter, “Colonial Encore”
A most dreamy bedroom and bath.
This book is filled with the most outstanding interiors of beautiful, refined, charming,
timeless interiors, yet has that “come in and sit a spell and have a glass of sweet tea!” feel.
Homes from the newly built to the estates, to the condo.
I was inspired by one of the photographs in the book that made me re-arrange
the catch all/sunroom in the rental, The Berry Patch House, just the other day.
I saw this, while reading this book from cover to cover and thought . . .
hmmm . . . time to re-arrange the catch all/sunroom room!
So I did! The image in the upper right hand corner of the above page was my inspiration.
Enduring Southern Homes now has a place on the chinoiserie table for easy access.
The beautiful photographs here today are just a very small peek into the approximate 200 pages
of exquisite photographs from a collection of 12 homes, including Eric Ross’ gorgeous
Boxwood Hill. Eric is from Kentucky and resides in the Nashville, Tennessee area,
in a hub of southern charm.
