Flower Arrangements In Vintage French Canning Jars

Hello Dear Readers!

Happy June! Where has the time gone?

It seems like we have gone from Spring to the warmth of Summer so quickly.

Here we are, the first Monday in June and it’s time for another magnificent

Monday Morning Blooms! A day when I join my wonderfully talented and most

creative Monday Morning Blooms friends, Lidy, Mary and Pam

to present some fabulous floral inspiration to you, our dear readers.

Their beautiful images and links to their posts are at the end of this post.

Today’s common theme is containers with labels.

It was easy for me to decide what containers to use today. I present:

Flower Arrangements In Vintage French Canning Jars

I have used my French canning jars previously in another post in my former home.

If you missed it you can see that post here: Vintage French Canning Jars

Luckily, I did not pack these beautiful vintage jars

as I knew I would surely use them.

Let’s begin with the flowers that I selected

to create the three flower arrangements

for the table today:

Alstroemeria (Lukka Orange)

Chamomile

Fuji Mums (yellow)

Gerbera Daisies (yellow and orange)

Hydrangeas (blue)

Kalanchoe (orange)

Snapdragons (yellow)

Spray Roses (yellow)

I selected flowers to coordinate with the labels of each canning jar.

For the Citron labeled jar I chose blue Hydrangeas, Chamomile for filler,

yellow Fuji mums, yellow Spray Roses, and yellow Snapdragons.

Lemons and mandarin oranges were  indeed the choice

to add to the tablescape of the vintage jars.

An orange segment on the fork . . . a signature of Mary’s creations.

Citrus is such a wonderful thing in decorating  our homes  for summer.

The perfect colors that speak sunshine.

The jars are vintage French and the labels

were added much later and not necessarily

the original jar and label combination.

I purchased these wonderful jars in California over a year ago

and they accompanied me on the plane back home.

In the Sirop de Mandarine jar, I used Gerbera Daisies, both orange and yellow,

Alstroemeria, and Orange Kalanchoe.

The third vintage French jar is a petite one.

Love that sweet label.

Flowers of choice for the petite canning jar were yellow Spray Roses,

yellow Gerbera Daisies and orange Kalanchoe.

I found some wonderful petite lemon filled cupcakes.

Perfect for just needing a little bit of sweetness after a meal.

The blue and white tray is new . . . well new to me.

I found it at my fave consignment shop . . . where else.

One can always use another beautiful and always versatile tray.

I love the vibrant colors in this tablescape that tells us that summer is here.

Well, maybe the official start of summer is June 21st;

however, it sure feels like summer here!

It was fun putting this tablescape/vignette together as I so love color

and using vintage items whenever I can.

And now it is time to visit my sweetest of the sweet

Monday Morning Blooms friends.

  1. Shirley, Your vintage jars with French labels are beautiful all by themselves but take my breath away with the addition of your blooms! Your trio and vignette is gorgeous…I don’t think of myself as an orange lover (unless it’s pumpkin season 😉 but your Sirop de Mandarine jar with your combination of Gerbera Daisies, Alstroemeria and Kalanchoe is stunning. Your petite jam jar is so sweet, served up on your new tray! Love the patina and graphics on the label. As always it’s a treat to start my Monday morning with my floral friends. ♥

  2. How did you get the Chamomile to point downward in the Citron Jar arrangement?

    • I used the longer stems and guided them down the sides of the jar and gently placed a little bend to the stem.
I stripped the leaves so that they would be top heavy…hope this helps.

  3. Shirley, your trio of canning jars with the French labels are stand alone beauties, and I must admit I am a little envious of them. The flowers that you have chosen for each jar are pure perfection. It is summer on your table with the addition of lemons and oranges. I do adore your new tray holding the petite jar and the lemon filled cupcakes…please pass me one to accompany my morning coffee. It is always a pleasure to spend Monday Morning Blooms with my friends. Have a beautiful day!

  4. Absolutely stunning love these arrangements in these jars and blue tray. What an inspiration. Thanks for listing the flowers.

    Beautiful as always Shirley!

  6. Oh Shirley, I could spend all day here looking at your gorgeous arrangements! Your photography is stunning, I have been pinning away, I want to paint them all! Your vintage jars are such treasures, and the blooms you chose and the way you’ve arranged them is so beautiful, and the citrus really makes everything pop even more! You and your MMB gals have given me big smiles and flower therapy this morning, I can’t wait to pick up my paint brush!

  7. Oh wow, they are all stunning. Love them all.

  8. Shirley, your arrangements are just so beautiful! I’m always wishing I would have had you style our photos at FrenchGardenHouse for the jars, because your selections of flowers and colors make each one of them look beyond beautiful! The combination with citrus just speaks the language of summer, doesn’t it? Those little cupcakes are so sweet, pass me one too, please, for my morning coffee. : ) Pam, Mary, you and I could have a virtual coffee session. It’s always such a joy to spend this first Monday morning with my friends here. xoxo Lidy

  9. Shirley love them and I adore the jars. Would mind letting me know where you found them? Hope things are moving forward with the house.

  10. These colorful arrangements are my favorites so far!! Love these colors together in front of that beautiful armoire.

  11. Beautiful arrangements and lovely styling. I love your choice of flowers and your vignettes are so elegant.

  12. Shirley,
You four ladies are the bees-knees when it comes to floral arrangements! Each arrangement is stellar. Like Mary, I am not a lover of orange, but your flowers in the sweet little French-labeled jar is one I love. And that armoire is beautiful! I have a triple French armoire I bought many years ago in an antique store and it is in its original wood color, but seeing your stunning painted armoire has me dreaming of my armoire in color.

Fabulous job as always! ‘Til next times Monday flowers…
