Hello Dear Readers!
Summer is all about wonderful vacations to the beach or to the mountains
for those who prefer the beautiful vistas and fresh mountain air . . .
or your very favorite place to be . . .
perhaps a getaway you travel to every year,
or a new adventure to an unexplored place.
Other than travels, I find decorating for summer is fun.
Whether you prefer decorating with shells
or the colors of the summer holidays
like the 4th of July . . . you can gather what you have in your home,
without having to purchase seasonal decor from your local craft store.
I chose to go with a red, white and blue theme
to adorn the sofa table this year,
thus I chose, Decorating for Summer with Transferware
I have a collection of blue and white transferware and a few pieces of red
transferware, so I gathered some pieces for a red, white, and blue summer theme.
My latest transferware purchase is from my fav consignment shop,
Always Home in Durham, N.C.,
which is this sweet little Mason pitcher. I actually have a larger one that I got from
my friend Martha that is in the “storage abyss” … this little pitcher
was too sweet to pass up!
I purchased this sweet little tureen a couple of months ago from the same collection.
The Blue Willow is also from “the shop”
To add a bit of that patriotic flair, I added a grain sack star to the lidded jar.
It’s a very classic vignette to enjoy for the summer.
A few changes to this vignette is easy . . . to achieve an entirely different look,
take away the red and add white accessories with shells and starfish
and maybe a piece of coral.
In the meantime, I shall enjoy this classic vignette
to celebrate our Nation’s Independence Day.
I wish you all a most fun and safe 4th of July!

Pretty mix of blue and red transferware. I sure hope that consignment shop knows how much you advertise for them. 🙂
A pretty display of the red, white and blue! Have a great 4th!!
Thanks Liz..hope you had a great 4th!
I just looooove this!
Thank you so much Pamela!
I have a small collection of red transfer ware, and now I am collecting the blue, mainly to use in my patriotic decorating. The red works well at Christmastime as well as with my Valentine’s Day decor. I like the idea of using things for holiday decor that can be used year round as well. Have a happy 4th!
Thank you Sharon…I love that idea too! Hope you had a great 4th!
I love it! I have both red and blue Transferware, heavy on the red, and it never disappoints. I hope you and Tom have a very happy 4th of July! Xo
Thank you Lidy!….Love that you use your beautiful transferware for all seasons and celebrations!
This is such charming vignette! Sometimes I think going red, white and blue in decorating can get a little cheesy, but this has a more sophisticated, yet country edge to it. I’m off to check my stash of red and blue transferware and see what I can come up with!
Happy 4th!
Janet, I hope you found some pieces to celebrate the 4th with! 🙂
I have a lot of blue and white as well as red and white transferware. It is classic. Your vignette looks wonderful.
So pretty Shirley! And you are so right in switching a few pieces around for coastal and whatever one’s decor skills ask for. 🙂 One can never go wrong with blue and white or red transfer ware. Have a great and safe 4th.
Kari
