Hickory Cottage Update Part 5 and Taking a Break

Hello Dear Readers!

Hope you are having a fabulous week!

Things are moving along at Hickory Cottage.

They started placing the shingles on the roof

and once the roof is complete, they will be starting

more work on the interior.

But first, let me show you another treasure I found

at the consignment shop, Always Home in Durham, N.C.

A LaBarge mirror (French Garden Harvest)

The carving is beautiful…who can resist a gorgeous mirror?!!

I am now just in need of a pair of mirrors for the Master Bath.

I found another treasure at Always Home that day.

This pineapple motif Quoizel chandelier.

It will most likely be hung in the Master Bedroom closet.

You always have to look up when in that shop

as there are many great lighting fixtures on display,

My counter stools have arrived (Frontgate).

I love that they swivel and are very comfortable.

Two stools (without backs) to tuck under each end of the kitchen island

and 3 stools (with backs) to be placed on the front side of the island.

Love the design of these kitchen counter stools.

The seat is made of a beautiful soft gray leather.

The cupolas were ready to be placed until we discovered

the bases were not high enough for the pitch of the roof.

So waiting patiently for a solution to this problem. Ugh!!!

Lots of activity and that’s a good thing!

Also, just to let you know

that I will be taking a little break from the blog. 🙁

Things will be a little hectic these next few weeks.

I am just fine!…Just a little lump in the road! 🙂

I will be doing updates on my Instagram.

So please follow along with me!

Have a most beautiful day!

I’m craving ice chips!

See you soon and in the words of Arnold,

“I’ll be back!”

Shirley, you always find the most beautiful treasures! Always Home will be a definite stop on our way to and from my son’s home in Charlotte–can’t wait! Although you’ll be sorely missed, you should take a break to concentrate on your home build–much time is required when trying to get everything just right. I am looking forward with anticipation to following along on instagram. Hugs!

Shirley, I like your chandelier with the pineapple motif. It will say, “welcome to the closet!” I like how you always have little pineapples displayed around your home. Now you have me buying pineapples! You truly are an influencer and I will miss you while you take a break, but you deserve some time off. That little stool is so stylish and looks so comfortable. Can’t wait to see it in your new house. Love and hugs from Oklahoma, Susan
