Hello Dear Friends!
Where has the time gone?!
I cannot believe that Christmas is
truly just around the corner.
Have I finished shopping or finalized
Christmas dinner? … The answer is No.
Today is another special Monday, as
it is Monday Morning Blooms.
Lidy, Mary, Pam and I are happy to present
more Christmas flower inspiration.
The links to the posts are at the
bottom of this post under their

Today, I present to you,
The Breakfast Room Christmas Table
It was time to set the
Breakfast Room table for Christmas.
I wanted to keep it fun, so I am
using my “Twas the Night before Christmas”
dinnerware designed by Susan Winget.
In trying to keep the table “fun”
here is what I decided to do:
Use candy canes!
I did the vase in a vase procedure.
I placed 35 candy canes in the space
between the vases.
The flowers were then placed in
the inner vase.
Note: Keep the wrapping on the
candy canes should any water
splash on the canes, the canes won’t
stick or the stripes won’t “run.”
“Twas the Night before Christmas when all through the house”
“Not a creature was stirring . . not even a mouse”
“The stockings were hung by the chimney with care”
“In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there”
I purchased this dinnerware about
30 years ago during a trip to Virginia
and visited a large pottery discount store.
This is a set of 12 that has the entire
“Night Before Christmas” poem.
To add to the fun,
I placed my Hallmark Santa and his reindeer
that I purchased way more years ago than I
want to admit.
The flowers that I had chosen are:
Red and White Carnations
Green and White Mums
Red Roses
Evergreens and Baby’s Breath for filler.
The extra candy canes placed
on the table to use rather than
sugar in your coffee.
A peek of the Carolers on the hutch.
Having one of the Christmas trees
next to the Breakfast area is wonderful.
I look forward to our Christmas breakfast
at this table. My breakfast menu is planned…
How about you?
Now it is time for you to visit my
flower loving friends, Mary, Lidy and Pam.

Oh your beautiful twin Christmas trees! So merry and bright and I love your hutch with your Carolers in the background too! I’m a big fan of Susan Winget’s art and designs. Your dinnerware, candy cane centerpiece and table are all perfectly appointed for Christmas morning breakfast or brunch. Wishing you a Merry Christmas week Shirley! I know your friends are in for a treat seeing your beautiful new home decorated for the holidays. ♥
That’s adorable, Shirley! The Santa and reindeer instantly brought back a memory of a very vintage set my parents had when we were growing up. Memories! Your trees flanking the sunroom arches look so pretty as a backdrop to this table!
Have a wonderful week, and Merry Christmas to you!
Shirley, I am in awe of this beautiful Christmas table set for Christmas morning breakfast. The Susan Winget “ Twas the Night Before Christmas dinnerware is so perfect with your candy cane floral arrangement. I know your Sweetie will just love this table. I can’t forget to mention the fabulous twin trees flanking the arches to your gorgeous sunroom. Enjoy your friends today and wishing you and your family the Merriest Christmas!
What an adorable table setting, Shirley! How wonderful that you have tableware representing the poem, “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” and kept them all these years. Your open floor plan certainly showcases your beautiful Christmas trees from every room! So looking forward to your Christmas home tour! Christmas blessings to you and your family.🎄
Shirley, Your breakfast table is delightful. What a great MMB centerpiece that sets the stage beautifully for your Christmas dishes. The adorable Santa and his sleigh are perfect next to your DIY candycane container with just the right flowers.
Your Christmas trees are so lovely and provide a great backdrop for your table. You planned your home down to every detail so beautifully.
Have a delightful Christmas.
Shirley, It is beautiful and those two trees blow me away! Your new home is beautiful! I pray you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and blessed New Year. Take care of yourself!
Love it Shirley. Would love to have breakfast at your pretty table. I have those same night before Christmas plates and we use them at my daughter’s for our Christmas meal. Love all the beautiful flowers. Can’t believe Christmas is here this week. Have a great Christmas.
xoxo Kris
Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful, yet easy, centerpiece. It will be a delightful and unexpected gift to drop at friends door this week. Now I can answer the question I often ask myself, “Why am I keeping all of these odd classes and vases?”
Have a wonderful holiday!
⛄️ ❄️ 🎄 🎁
Beautiful!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year..
Merry Christmas. You have a beautiful setting. This is my favorite of all Christmas dishes. I started my collection about 30 years ago. About 38 years ago we began a tradition of brunch on boxing day for all of my family and my husband’s family. I use these dishes for every meal during December and have added to my collection to have 24 place settings – needed for the number of guests at our annual boxing day brunch. It also describes my Christmas decorating style and I absolutely adore it.
I love this! Such a sweet floral arrangement, your table setting is adorable. I love this set of dishes by Susan, it is everything magical about Christmas. I can only imagine how your little person loved this when she was smaller, and still does!
Wishing you both a blessed Christmas dear Shirley. It’s a joy to join you on our sweet Monday Morning Blooms all through the year. xo Lidy
I didn’t even realize you had a breakfast room/area! Can’t wait for the tour!!!!! The table looks beautiful and I wish I had a seat there! Love that Hallmark Santa with reindeer piece! The dishes are wonderful and I think I know what pottery place you are referring to, near Williamsburg? I went there a couple of times. LOVED it. Wishing you a VERY merry Christmas in your gorgeous new home!!!! XO
How cute is that? Love that arrangement idea, that is so cute! Those are cute dishes! You’re all set for Christmas Day!
A beautiful table. Love the Night Before Christmas plates. Have a Merry Christmas.
Shirley, this is such a lovely table. I love your dishes!! What a cute idea with the flowers! These are similar to the flowers I found at Trader Joes so thank you for the idea on how to arrange them. Merry Christmas to you!
I, too, have this set as service for 12…unlike Chris Barnnard who has settings for 24! I use red chargers and red wine glasses. Silver Mint Julep cups with red roses. Red silverware from Boehmn. I also have the Hallmark ornament! We get plenty of use from it and the family loves the pottery and it brings us joy!. I MUST try your candy cane vase and flowers, however…so cute!
How sweet and beautiful! Merry Christmas!
What fun Shirley! I love your beautiful flowers, and the candy canes – I would never have thought of that! Thanks for the inspiration, and Happy New Year!
Shirley, what a fun, festive, and cheerful table. The flower arrangement is just gorgeous! Thank you for sharing, and wishing you a Happy New Year!
