Hello Dear Readers! I am back!
I hope you had a joyous Easter.
So what better way to make my return,
than to join my wonderful Bloom Friends, Lidy, Mary and Pam
for Monday Morning Blooms. So happy to be back!
The links to my Flower Friends are
below their beautiful images at the bottom of this post.
Today, it’s Tea and Blooms in the Sunroom.
If you follow me on Instagram,
you will know that I took a little hiatus
to devote taking care of my mom.
She is back home in Florida and continues
to be her 95 years young, happy self.
Here she is after she created some
origami cranes.
In honor of my mom,
I thought I would create a happy arrangement
in a vase made in her native country of Japan.
Also, to place the arrangement in the room
I call my “Happy Place.”
When shopping for flowers,
I knew that they had to be happy flowers…like my mom.
So I chose:
Variegated yellow and pink tulips
Pink, white, and orange ranunculus
Hot pink and light pink gerbera daisies.
All to create a most happy arrangement.
I started creating this arrangement
with the ranunculus as they draped over the edge.
Then the tallest of stems, the gerbera daisies
and filled in with the tulips. …. Happy!
The day prior to making the arrangement,
I sprayed the flowers with Crowning Glory
flower preservative spray.
Having a cup of green tea
was in the daily routine when my mom was here.
The cup of tea sits upon a most beautiful
book by Victoria Magazine,
The Art of Tea, Recipes and Rituals.
The pretty tea set was purchased in Japan
when I traveled there with my mom.
A trip of a lifetime.
You may have noticed that I did some
major rearranging and re-styling in the sunroom.
A small bookcase was added and
the secretary was relocated to another room.
(That reveal will be coming soon).
I purchased some cabinets
from my former next door neighbor
and that created a domino effect in 4 rooms!
It required hiring movers.
The furniture in the sunroom
danced to the Furniture Shuffle.
Plants and flowers thrive in this room
due to its wonderful light.
Did I mention that this room was my Happy Place?
And did I mention that I am so happy to be back?
Hope you enjoyed the happy flowers in my Happy Place.
My mom loved sitting in this room too.
Now it is time to visit my flower passionate friends!

Good Morning Shirley, I can see why your sunroom is your happy place! Such wonderful light and pretty furnishings! I love your pretty arrangement with your bright ranunculus, tulips and gerberas. Your blue and white vase makes such a pretty vessel in contrast to the orange and pinks of your flowers. Love the photo of your sweet mom with her origami crane. I know she enjoyed her visit with you. So happy to have you back with us again and I look forward to more ‘furniture shuffle’ 🙂 ♥

Your Mom is darling and I am so glad you had a great visit.
Shirley, you select the most beautiful flowers and arrange them so well. I adore all the colors you have used together. Truly a talented eye you have for all the design elements. And you have the most gorgeous settings to show them off.
I love your happy arrangement and your happy room. Both so beautiful.
Shirley, I’m happy to see your return, and am glad you had a good time taking care of your mother. She looks so happy, and not anywhere near her near century age! Your sunroom is so well appointed with natural light, I can imagine the peace and calm it brings you or anyone who spends time there. The floral arrangement you made for MMB is beautiful, organically arranged and in such a pretty vessel. I’m looking forward to seeing your furniture shuffle. How fun!
Shirley, I love your beautiful choice of happy flowers in honor of your precious mom! Ranunculus is a favorite flower of mine and they look so gorgeous with the Gerber daisies and tulips. I am loving the color mix of your arrangement. The sweet tea set along with the beautiful Art of Tea book would definitely bring smiles to your mom.
