A crisp, white arrangement of flowers for summer
gives me the feeling and look like a crisp white linen blouse,
the perfect addition to a summer wardrobe.
A part of the “wardrobe for the home” for summer
is a fresh, crisp vase of white flowers.
Join me today for A Summer White Flower Arrangement.
Hello Dear Readers!
Happy Monday and Welcome to Monday Morning Blooms!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Today Lidy, Mary, Pam and I are bringing you some
great floral inspiration of White Flowers.
The links to their posts are located at the
bottom of this post.
I decided to use my beautiful pitcher
from Arte Italica
It has recently become my go to pitcher and
when there are no flowers in it or a great beverage,
it has a place of honor in my kitchen.
The flowers I used today are:
White Godetia/Clarkia Amoena
I have purchased the Godetia flowers in the past
and they made such a beautiful sweet bouquet.
It is that small flower with the light pink in the center above.
I love this sweet flower and looked up
where I can purchase the plant.
The Godetia flower is an annual and
best achieved in the garden by planting
its seeds after the last frost or in the fall
in milder climates.
The Godetia also known as “farewell to spring” as it blooms
in late spring. Actually they changed the name to Clarkia Amoena
however, it is still generally known as Godetia.
In creating this arrangement,
I started with two stems of the lilies.
and placed them on each end of the pitcher.
I tried to find a bunch that had lots of open
blooms, but found just several that had actually bloomed.
If you are going to use lilies for a specific occasion,
try and purchase them several days before the event to
give them time to bloom. The unopened blooms are just
as pretty though!
Next, the mums were placed in the center portion of the vase.
3 hydrangeas were placed at the bottom edges and then the
the Godetia a.k.a. Clarkia Anoena were used to fill in the spaces.
The mini topiaries are faux.
My summer white flower arrangement is
on the coffee table in front of my French armoire
in the sitting area of my great room.
I am trying for a subtle library feel
in this area since I recently added a desk
behind the sofa. My little work area.
Mini Baldwin Brass Charleston reproduction candlesticks
serve as bookends and my Limoges Eiffel Tower enamelware box
along with my silver fork vase complete this vignette.
I found this pretty silver fork vase in the gift shop
of a B&B where we were staying
in Camden, Maine.(Hartsone Inn)
Two chairs flank the armoire.
I am so fond of pretty lumbar pillows
by Crown Linen Designs.
I so love my little sitting area
and even more when it is adorned with flowers.
The summer white flower arrangement looks
so crisp and fresh against the armoire and the
scent of the lilies are wonderful.
We have been in our home for a little over a year now
and our plantings and trees are still somewhat immature;
however, my Wedding Hydrangea (Southern Living) shrub
is growing so beautifully. We planted it last fall.
My White Hydrangea tree is also filled with beautiful
These white blooms just dance in the moonlight!
