Sunshiney Sunflower Flower Arrangement

One of the happiest flowers is the Sunflower.

It’s like a ray of sunshine whenever you see a beautiful

arrangement filled with sunflowers.  They are popular

certainly in the summer and remain that way into the fall season.

Hello Dear Readers!

Hope you are enjoying the final weeks of summer.

I really do not like to “rush” through a season;

however, I can really do without this awful heat!

Did you know that 2021 is The Year of the Sunflower?

Yes, designated by the National Garden Bureau.

Welcome to Monday Morning Blooms!

Can you guess  what our common theme is today?!

Yes, the wonderful Sunflower!

Join me and my wonderful flower loving friends

Lidy, Mary, and Pam, for some great Sunflower

inspiration today. The links to their posts

are below their ever so beautiful images

at the bottom of this post.

I purchased this pretty vintage toleware

planter a couple of years ago from the

cutest garden shop in Knoxville, Tennessee,

“Sweet Pea” Among wonderful plants and

gorgeous topiaries, there are gifts and antiques.

There are pretty designs on both sides

of the planter. A blue and white planter

with yellow flowers on one side and

red flowers on the other.

An orchid was previously in this planter

in the sunroom.

A table set for two and we are eating

dessert. Found some sunflower cookies at Wegmans!

MacKenzie Childs Courtly Check on Lenox Butler’s Pantry.

Sunflower design napkins placed in the goblets.

I took 4 napkins and placed them on the table

for my “tablecloth square”.

The flowers used today are:

Sunflowers

Daisies

Golden yellow Stock Roses

Mini yellow mums

Chamomile

The Sunflower (Helianthus) blooms from mid summer

to early Fall.

Sunflowers are heliotropic…which means

that they turn  to follow the movement

of the sun from east to west.

Planting time for sunflowers are

after the last frost usually in mid April.

Did you know that sunflowers thrive in all 50 States?!!

They are such a delightful flower!

And speaking of delightful…it’s time to

visit my Bloom friends.

Shirley, Your sunflower arrangement is so cheery with the addition of the daisies, mums, roses and sweet chamomile! I adore your vintage toleware planter! Sunflowers never fail to make me smile and they’re the perfect flower for late summer and transitioning into fall. I’m with you, this heat and the triple digit temps have been oppressive. I’m ready to kick summer to the curb and hope fall arrives early in NC …one can dream! Thank you for sharing the beauty and flower therapy this morning. It’s always a joy to share blooms with you. ♥

Shirley, your choice of flowers definitely complement the happy sunflowers. I do love the vintage tole planter, such a lovely find in Knoxville. What a wonderful idea to use the sunflower napkins as a table square. I am so hopeful that our heat and humidity will break soon. It is unbearable to work in the garden even though there is much to do.

It is always a pleasure to share Monday Morning Blooms and flower therapy with you. You always inspire!

Shirley, I love the way you packed the flowers into a tight arrangement. It looks perfect in your tole container. I have a fondness for these painted pieces. Great find!
Thanks for sharing all the details. I had no idea that 2021 is the Year of the Sunflower. I may need to do a tribute post of my own.
