Magnolias leaves have been a favorite in all types of decor
and their leaves have been beautifully crafted into wreaths,
garlands, and bouquets for all seasons.
The magnificent Magnolia tree is truly revered in the South.
Hello Dear Readers!!
Welcome to a very special Monday Morning Blooms.
Lidy, Mary, Pam and I are featuring a most wonderful
Magnolia Wreath from the great folks of The Magnolia Company.
We were each sent a most beautiful Magnolia wreath to
incorporate into our Fall decor.
Each of us will be featuring a different wreath
and we each will have one to GIVEAWAY!!
Please see GIVEAWAY DETAILS at the end of this post
along with the links to my fellow Bloom friends blogs.
I chose the Beyond Breathless wreath to feature.
It arrived safely and intact due to the
attention to expert packaging..
The Beyond Breathless wreath is actually a dried wreath.
I felt that I could dress it for Fall…and then for Christmas too.
I added some ribbon to add some Fall texture.
This beautifully dried wreath is handcrafted by professional staff
with a sense of nature, blending dried hydrangeas, dried artichokes, and
I knew I wanted to place the wreath in the sunroom;
however, with windows and no walls, the best place
to hang it was on the window. I used a 3M Command Hook.
The Magnolia Company Farm is located in N. Central Florida,
where the conditions are perfect for vast groves of Southern Magnolia Trees.
Sunshine, frequent rain showers, and professional tree-growing staff
provide the foundation for producing magnificent magnolia trees.
Their professional staff are experts at hand making the wreaths that allows
to create designs that will dry beautifully and last for seasons to come.
There is nothing like the deep rich glossy green of the surface of the leaves
and the rich copper velvety back.
I must say that when we built this home, I told my builder that I wanted
several magnolia trees. I love seeing them flower.
The farm started in the 1800’s when Jeremiah Underhill was granted 250 acres
for his military service. The land/farm became the family homestead and six
generations of their family have farmed it in the quaint community of
Barberville, Florida…I actually did not live too far from there about
20 years ago.
In 1936, Mary (Ganny) and Frank Underhill started growing
and supplying cut foliage to wholesale florist throughout the country.
Ganny took pride in creating beautiful magnolia wreaths and decorations
that adorned homes and businesses across the country…carefully hand
tying individual care cards to the products.
They say that photos don’t capture the real beauty
of things. This is true.
The “Magnolia family” always remembers “Ganny” saying, “when times get tough
just get out in it and “pull a weed” – and good times will come”. A wise woman.
I have to relay this quote to my hubby as he pulls weeds to “de-stress”! 😊
Now if you see the following image…you can surely de-stress!
The Magnolia Company’s creations have been featured in HGTV, Southern Living,
Oprah’s O List, Real Simple, and more. Their beautiful products have also been
featured in places like the White House, and the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
This room is definitely one of my favorite rooms
to decorate for the seasons.
I added seasonal pillows and natural elements
such as flowers, pumpkins (both real and velvet)
and the magnolia wreath.
I’m already looking forward to Christmas decorating.
I’ve been on a 6 month waiting list to have
my two chairs in this room re-upholstered.
They are scheduled to be started at the end of January
which is just around the corner. 😊
I have truly learned to be patient these days!
The raspberry fabrics will be changed to
a more neutral palette.
I love it when I can find a pumpkin that
is the same color as the sofa.
Should you want to transition your fresh wreath to dried
here are some suggestions from the Magnolia Company
Drying times for fresh magnolia products:
🌿 In cold environments (single digits – Fahrenheit) – five to eight week drying cycle.
🌿 No problems with freezing.
🌿 In cool environments (average of around 60 degrees F). Four to six week drying cycle.
🌿 In warm humid environments (average of around 78 degrees F). Two to three week drying cycle.
🌿 In warm dry conditions (indoor with the heater blasting)
–– Ten to fourteen day drying cycle.
🌿Because their products are made primarily from broad leaf evergreens
the drying sequence is most notable in this setting.
Since taking the photographs for this post
this space has changed. I shuffled two chairs
from another space to replace this bench as
I found a great settee at my fav shop.
You know things are always changing around here!!
