Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate our many blessings
of family, friends, health, and happiness.
A most wonderful time of charity and compassion.
Hello Dear Readers!
Thanksgiving is truly a favorite holiday for our entire family.
A time for our family to come together from far and near to celebrate
just being together with the added bonus of great food!
It was my dad’s favorite holiday of the year.
Welcome to Monday Morning Blooms!
Today, Lidy, Mary, Pam and I are bringing you
great flower inspiration. Our common the theme is Thanksgiving.
The links to their most inspiring posts are
below their pretty images at the bottom of this post.
As I had stated above, my dad’s favorite holiday
was Thanksgiving and in honor of him I chose to
create my centerpiece in an antique tool box,
as my mom called my dad her “handyman.”
I purchased this antique tool box from my friend Martha
who was downsizing for a move …. and happy to say
she’s moving back! 🙂
I gathered some empty French preserves jars and
placed them into the tool box.
The jars were filled with water and enhanced with
flower preservant (Floral Life)
Flowers placed in equal portions in the jars.
The flowers used today for my centerpiece are:
🍁Yellow tipped burgundy mums
🍁Lepidium for filler
I set the table using Pottery Barn Fresco Bird plates
that I purchased several years ago.
I set the bird plates on top of my
Johnson Brothers Pomona plates that
have a beautiful design; however, I used
them primarily for their pretty roped edging.
They are set upon a green Franciscan
charger purchased at an outlet many years ago.
Silverware by Horchow.
You will notice some familiar Fitz and Floyd birds
making another appearance on today’s Thanksgiving Table.
Many years ago, I had some napkins embroidered
for the Thanksgiving table, “Give Thanks”
I am using them today along with a beautifully adorned
large tag that presents many uses.
This tag made wonderful place cards.
The beautiful tags are from FrenchGardenHouse
In addition to flowers, I added small sized pumpkins
at each end for filler and added texture.
A peek at the other side of the tool box arrangement.
The dining room is certainly one of my happy places.
Not sure whether it is because of the fireplace
that makes it cozy or the wallpaper…it’s both!

Hope you enjoyed my dining room dressed
for Thanksgiving and my special tool box
floral centerpiece that brings back memories
of my dad.
