Hello Dear Readers!
I hope those who celebrate Easter had a wonderful
and blessed one.
We had a fun time entertaining my Sweetie and her friend
with a major Scavenger Egg Hunt. The clues were hard;
however, the rewards were great.
Welcome to another fabulous Monday Morning Blooms.
Lidy, Mary, Pam and I are presenting flower arrangements
in pretty pitchers.
The links to their posts are at the bottom of this post
below their beautiful images.
Today, I present A Favorite Pitcher of Flowers
and vignette on the ottoman in the Great Room.
Deciding on which pitcher to use for my flower arrangement,
was easy….I chose my Arte Italica Merletto White Scalloped Pitcher.
Such a wonderfully versatile pitcher…so elegant, yet can also be used
on a casual tablescape or centerpiece.
For Spring and Easter I have been gravitating towards
using the shades of purple and pink.
Trader Joe’s had the amazing Double Peony Tulips,
so this flower was my inspiration for the large pitcher arrangement
(Please excuse the shadows..it was as dreary day
when I had to photograph before leaving town)
The flowers are:
💜Arte Italica Merletto White Scalloped Pitcher:
🌷Purple and white Variegated Alstroemeria
🌷Pink Double Peony Tulips
🌷Chamomile for filler (one of my fav fillers for arrangements)
💜Small purple vintage transferware pitcher (Colony ~ Tunstall, England)
🌸White Hydrangea and Deep Pink Calla Lilies
💜Charlotte, Royal Staffordshire; Clarice Cliff, Burslem, England
🌸A single orchid bloom (egg cups)
I purposely chose just three items for the larger arrangement
as I wanted to show you that you can create a beautiful
pitcher of multiple flowers for under $20.
The ironstone foot bath filled with my lavender hydrangeas
was the inspiration for the colors I am using in the room for Spring.
My friend Amy (Maison Decor)
was having a “downsizing” sale … traveled to the Boston area with my
friend Mary Alice. I purchased about a dozen purple transferware pieces
from Amy….the sweet pitcher and egg cups were featured in
Nora Murphy’s book, “Country House Style” in which Amy’s home was featured.
I clipped a couple of blooms from one of my many
orchid plants and placed in the egg cups.
I love that orchids really thrive in my sunroom.
The vintage tole tray has been a wonderful tray for
placing pretties and a place to set a drink for guests.
I have been searching for another tray with a
very specific design … and found one on my travels
with the Boys of Summer….
Here it is:
Found the tray (Napa Home and Garden) in a beautiful shop in Richmond.
Hope you enjoyed my simply arranged flowers in
truly one of my favorite large pitchers and my sweet vintage one.
The small blue and white vase above is a new find from my fav
consignment shop, Always Home in Durham, NC.
Now it is time for you to enjoy some wonderful flower inspiration
from my very passionate about flowers friends.

Shirley, Your pitcher arrangement with those Double Peony Tulips is beautiful! I love the pink/purple combination and what a wonderful example of how to create an affordable flower arrangement! I love my AI Merletto scalloped pitcher too, so handsome and versatile. I so wish I had a Trader Joe’s nearby. . . *sigh*. And be still my heart…those Clarice Cliff Charlotte egg cups and beautiful transferware pitcher too! I know Amy is happy her pieces went to a good home. Your new mirrored tray is beauty is perfect with your pagoda style candle holder and pretty blue and white pieces. Thank you for the beauty and welcome flower therapy for a rainy morning! Happy Monday ♥
Shirley, I love your combination of pink and purple blooms. The double peony tulips are stunning in your Arte Italica pitcher along with the alstroemeria and chamomile. The Clarice Cliff egg cups with a single orchid bloom is a lovely styling idea, I am going to tuck that one away to be used later. The new mirrored tray was a great find and looks so pretty with your blue and white pieces. Thank you for showing how to make a gorgeous arrangement for under twenty dollars. It is always a pleasure to share Monday Morning Blooms and flower therapy. Happy Monday ♥️
Your blooms are always so pretty. Love the pitcher. Glad you had a great Easter with your sweet grand daughter and her friend. My girls love the egg hunt with clues too. Have a wonderful start to the new week. xoxo Kris
Those double peony tulips are just gorgeous, Shirley, and I love the delicate look of the eggcups filled with the orchid. I love the vintage receptacles. So happy to see you gals welcoming spring!
Shirley, your florals are just beautiful. Especially the hydrangeas with Calla Lilies. Thank you for sharing.
So gorgeous Shirley! I also found some double peony tulips at Trader Joe’s and they provided quite a show for our Easter celebration! I love the way you styled your trays, both are incredibly beautiful and magazine worthy…love the orchids in the egg cups, so so cute and pretty! I’m so glad you had a wonderful Easter, I would love to hear more about the scavenger egg hunt, my grands are getting too old for a simple egg hunt, I need to up the challenge next year and a scavenger hunt with clues sounds like a lot of fun!
Shirley, your post is so beautiful. Everything is just perfect.
We have a Trader Joe’s here in Birmingham but can’t get there much. Can’t leave my husband alone to long.
I’m glad to here that you can have blooming orchids, can’t get mine to Flower again.
Enjoy Mondays post always.
.
Such a pretty happy purple flower arrangement! I love the egg cups and purple transferware you got from Amy. I used to create mosaic pieces from plates. Amy sent me some broken purple transferware of hers to create a mosaic piece for her. It was such fun!
Shirley this is SOOOOO beautiful! The purples are gorgeous and the pepny tulips are fabulous! I just this morning found out that we have a produce junction near us now (they are like TJ’s with flowers) so now I will have a place to get them! I am so excited to go! I LOOOOOVE the new tray, I too, have been looking for a gold tray for my pagoda lantern too:):) So glad you had a wonderful day with your sweetie. We did too. XO
This is so pretty Shirley! I love your beautiful double tulips in that amazing Arte Italica pitcher. I’m so happy you were able to have an egg hunt with your sweetie and her friend. That never gets old. Hope you had a wonderful Easter. It’s always an inspiring and sweet time when we gather for one of our beloved Monday morning blooms! xo Lidy
Hi there! The pitcher really shows off the brilliant colors of the flowers in a way that is truly remarkable! So, so pretty! And at Trader Joe’s those double peony tulips?!?!??! I wish Trader Joe’s was a bit closer to our home! I just can’t justify a 30+ mile round trip for them.😑 When I see these, though, it seems more and more worth the trip! Shirley, you have an eye for florals. I love, love, love your creations!!!!
The transferware is A-1!!!!!! I don’t own a single piece of purple transferware, but perhaps someday…
Shirley, Your arrangement is stunning in your beautiful Arte Italica pitcher. I’ve never seen variegated purple alstroemeria. It is striking and looks so pretty paired with tulips and chamomile. Both arrangements are lovely. Calla lilies stuck among white hydrangeas look very pretty too.
How nice to find the new tray. I have a similar round one that I have enjoyed so very much. It looks good everywhere.
I always enjoy MMB and am sorry to be late but was out of town for Easter.
wow, this looks so beautiful and amazing. thanks for sharing this wonderful article about favourite pitcher of flowers.
