For 8 years I have been wanting to change out the mirrors in one of the guest bathrooms…
It is the smaller of the two guest baths.
One of my favorite stores was closing and I snagged a couple of mirrors for $12.50 each!
I painted them and here is the result:
After….
Here was the “Before”….
As you can see they were very large and “dark”…
So I took the two mirrors and painted them with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White.
Used my trusty Frog Tape..and I started painting away…
I usually paint in the garage…
…..and do not mind it at all, as I can watch my favorite HGTV shows at the same time.
The channel is usually set on HGTV or of course, ESPN.
I love the shape and color of the mirrors now…they coordinate well with the cabinetry.
Not a bad investment…a total of $25 for both mirrors!..
I replaced the candlesticks with topiaries…
…..trying to obtain a garden feel to the room.
The lantern and plates remain in the room..
This wall was blank…I purchased one canvas print from HomeGoods…
…..and snagged the other print from my bathroom “privy” area.
No worries that this left a “blank area” in the “privy”…I bought something else to replace it! 🙂
I purchased this “plaster” column at a yard sale for $5.00…
I applied Annie Sloan Dark Wax to the column.
The dark wax actually created a “wood” effect.
The column was placed under the existing art…
….the frame of the art was originally all gold and I painted a portion of it white.
The frame feels less heavy now.
The bookcase across from the vanity has been re-styled…for now…still tweaking it.
I purchased this bookcase many years ago from a consignment shop…it is Drexel Heritage…an older piece.
…..I had a decorative painter paint it to match the wallpaper in a previous bathroom.
So this is what I have been working on these past few days.
As I was taking pics in this room without a window….
…..it emphasizes the fact for me to make another purchase.
For my camera that is…a much needed flash attachment so I can take decent pictures of a low lit room.
And…..there is one more thing that I have been working on these past few days..
…..I am getting ready for a dinner party at my house this week.
Can you guess the theme?
Hope you have a wonderful day!!!
