Silhouette, fairies and more pink in a little girl’s room was on the agenda this week.
Today, I shall tease you with some little updates.
A little girl’s room that has taken a while to do, as we have been working on it a little at a time.
When we placed, or should I say squeezed, the bedroom furniture in the room
which was my craft room, and now it’s “our” craft space,
she stated she would like to see more pink in the room. So her wish is my command.
You will see fairies fluttering about the room.
On mirrors and stems of flower plates.
A silhouette that was created at Disney World several years ago
hangs on the door of the craft cabinet.
The striations on the walls is the reflection of the shade of the chandelier in the room.
And of course there needs to be a bit of vintage in the room.
So we added this cute vintage cranberry glass basket that sits on the dresser.
And fabrics and trim with touches of pink.
Bulletin board of gray and white had to be transformed to pink of course!
Annie Sloan Scandinavian Pink to be exact!
During this entire process of decorating this room, I tried very hard to use what I
already had . . from the bedding to the lamps to the wall art.
When I needed something to place her own craft supplies in, I looked in the attic
to see what I could find. And I came across a Longaberger basket from 1996 that
had the perfect shade of pink on it! Serendipity I say!
The accent color on the basket could not be more perfect!…A special basket
as it was the 1996 Mother’s Day Basket.
So I leave you today with one of the first things that was done when she actually starting using her room.
I had a pair of quilted hearts that I have had forever.
They were hanging on the door knob . . . however, they found their way to the front of the door.
A dual purpose of beauty of function.
She turned over one of the hearts to the back side to write her message
of when she needs “privacy” and that means to knock before entering.
Does this mean she is growing up? Yep, I think so!
Cue the box of tissues!
Have a great day enjoying each moment of the day and making memories!
