Summer is all about wonderful vacations to the beach or to the mountains
for those who prefer the beautiful vistas and fresh mountain air . . .
or your very favorite place to be . . .
perhaps a getaway you travel to every year,
or a new adventure to an unexplored place.
Other than travels, I find decorating for summer is fun.
Whether you prefer decorating with shells
or the colors of the summer holidays
like the 4th of July . . . you can gather what you have in your home,
without having to purchase seasonal decor from your local craft store.
I chose to go with a red, white and blue theme
to adorn the sofa table this year,

Today I have a bit of “this and that.”
I have truly been trying to scale down some things around the house,
in that, if I start to pack some things away . . .
maybe that means we are closer
to getting into the house. Wishful thinking.
When I combined three orchids together
(that were originally in their own containers)
into one container, it started that domino effect.

4th of July Flower Arrangement and Tablescape
Last week we traveled to Florida to attend our Class Reunion.
On the way down we stopped at one of our fav restaurants on our route,
to have lunch.
A bonus of this restaurant/inn is that it has a beautiful gift shop too!
So usually after I order my meal, I head to the gift shop!
It was there that I found a beautiful lamp that I could not leave behind.
I am not sure what spoke to me first . . . the design with birds
or the pretty finial. I just wish they had a pair.
When we returned from Florida and I set up the lamp in the Great Room,
of course it lead to the ripple or domino effect,
which truthfully, I enjoy!
The domino effect also led to creating new vignettes of:

Hello Dear Readers!
It’s been a very hectic week here dealing with decisions, decisions
for the new house.
Seems as though when I think I pretty much have it all together,
then something comes up . . . like a higher estimate than anticipated,
then back to the drawing board to make more decisions.
In the meantime,
