Mary of Home Is Where the Boat Is, kicked off our tour on Monday

with a beautiful presentation of her charming southern porch

with her beloved girls, Zoe and Gracie. They are the cutest!

Mary’s wreath, the Country Christmas Wreath, hangs on the back of her pretty porch bench,

while the Tartan Centerpiece beautifully sits on the table with the Girls looking on

and admiring just how beautifully the wreath and arrangement coordinate with the Wellies!

Flowers, Fruit, and Veggies – Floral Friday

Hello Dear Readers! It’s another great day as today is the 3rd Friday of the month

and that means it is Floral Friday!

Today I am joining my wonderful Floral Friday friends, Lidy, Mary and Pam

to present our floral creations incorporating fruit or veggies or both!

Their links and images are below so that you can visit them

and receive more amazing floral inspiration!

My inspiration for my flower arrangement today was Peonies.

I was thrilled to obtain some this late in the season and could not wait

to create an arrangement with them being the star.

Welcome to our Flowers, Fruit and Veggies – Floral Friday!

A Centerpiece with Memories – Floral Friday

Blue and White accessories and the color scheme of blue and white

in home interiors has always been a classic.

I remember back in the 70’s, I decorated with lots of blue, white and yellow.

I guess you can say that I was in my country phase of gingham and ruffles.

When I was a very young homemaker and stay at home mom, I was constantly sewing.

Whether it be my clothes, or things for the house. I even took a class with

my friend Ruth and we learned how to make t-shirts with the crew necks!

Today,  I am going down memory lane a bit.

Making it Easy for Setting the Table

If not every night, it’s most often that I hear the question,

“can I help?”

My hubby does not cook. The BBQ grill is the closest he will come to cooking.

I don’t complain (much) as he is so very helpful in other ways around the house.

The kitchen is just not his thing.

Sometimes I have to direct him to where certain things are in the kitchen.

So making it easy for setting the table is a good thing.

Inspiration from a Magazine Cover

I love my shelter magazines.

As a teenager, I would forego buying a tube of lipstick and buy a House Beautiful or a

Better Homes and Gardens magazine instead.  It brought me hours of joy dreaming of interiors

I hoped to have someday.

I must admit, I am a magazine hoarder and keep special issues or boxes of a favorite magazine.

Spring Centerpiece in a Basket

I do not have a breakfast table.

We use our dining room table every day.

It is next to the kitchen and the perfect gathering place and work table.

I have learned that I would rather have a centerpiece on the table

that I can pick up and move with ease due to this:

This is where my granddaughter sets up her various little houses

and creates many rooms that many a designer would appreciate!

We also have dinner here every night.

You will notice these moss bunnies a.k.a Peter Rabbit and friends

went from the Great Room coffee table to the dining room. They are always on the move!

An old paper mache bunny joined Peter and his friends.

What I will miss about Spring is the wonderful tulips

but for now, I will enjoy them as much as I can and continue buying them

until they are no longer available.

Bunnies, potted tulips, flowers in a vintage ironstone creamer,

a lantern, and a vintage transferware lid fill the basket with lots of color,

texture and a little bit of whimsy.

I did not set my usual Easter tablescape this year.

We will be going to a great Inn for Easter Brunch and then home

for the traditional Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt.

The Spring Basket Centerpiece will remain on the table along with a very casual buffet

for those participating in the Egg Hunt, both children and adults too!

I wish you all a most beautiful weekend

and a most Joyous Easter!

Lavender Love

A few weeks ago, I presented my great ironstone finds.

I found four salad plates and bowls and later discovered that they matched a tureen I found . . .

~ ~ at another antique shop!

I placed these plates and bowls in an antique tool caddy . . .

~ ~ then placed that caddy on the dining room table.
