A woodland coffee table vignette seemed to be the perfect choice
of a theme this year to coordinate with my new Pottery Barn Deer Crewel pillows.
I gathered woodland items from my Christmas/Holiday stash
and carefully created the vignette to coordinate with the decor in the room.
Happy 2016!! I hope you all had a most wonderful New Year’s Eve
welcoming in the New Year.
I have no resolutions this year.
Why?
Maybe it is because my goal for this year is to enjoy each day, each moment
one day at a time, one moment at a time.
The “Que Sera, Sera” attitude . . . to be happy that I woke up and saw the sun
and ended the day with a goodnight kiss.
For today, I will reflect back on my favorite projects of 2015.
Because this project was for my “sweetie”, it was my favorite.
I wanted to incorporate more blue and white
into my Christmas decor this year.
When I began to think about the theme and color
of the Christmas tablescape, I looked in my cupboards
and then glanced at my mantel
and then it occurred to me what I wanted to do. The epiphany moment.
In keeping with my simple Christmas decor . . . well, as simple as this girl gets . . .
~ ~ I decorated the area that I have my ironstone pieces with new retro ornaments.
I love the look of the old ornaments . . . as many of us do.
The first thing I did when returning from Florida for Thanksgiving . . .
~ ~ was to decorate my French buffet for Christmas.
I hope you all had a most wonderful Thanksgiving.
My family and I traveled to Florida . . . to my sister’s home . . . where my mom also lives.
We were there for a week and I was a bit out of cyber sync. . .
~ ~ as my sister lives in the country . . no cell phone coverage and slow internet.
So I took a bit of a blog break.
I have been challenged to keep it simple.
I say that this year, I want to keep it simple . . .
~ ~ I have been asked by my friends if simple was in my vocabulary.
Last week I took out a few Christmas decor storage bins to create a Winter Woodland Tablescape . .
~ ~ and now the pandora’s box is open and Christmas bins are everywhere.
So let the Christmas projects and decor begin!…
Today, I am pouring through last years Christmas projects and Christmas vignettes . . .
~ ~ seeing how I can changes things up . . . and pare things down . .
For my more simply stated Christmas . . . yes, I said it!
I am sure many of us have those cute Ikea faux potted plants.
The Ikea plants come in a black plastic container . . .
~ ~ that many of us slip into a decorative container.
Last year, I did a decorative wrap to the container . . .
~ ~ and placed it in a lantern. I decided to do the same to my other plants.
So busy this week trying to complete my Christmas decorating…
With the exception of the large tree…the living room is almost complete…
Here is one more table vignette to present to you…
I was excited to use my Arhaus bargain I purchased this summer..
…..large silver metal antlers that were on clearance..
……….they were originally $50 each, but got them for $10 each!!…Yay…love bargains!!
I always have my Waterford bowl on this table…a gift from my brother…
…..it makes me smile every time I see it…
……….added my faux crystal deer and lots of florals and an evergreen swag for a base.
I used the color scheme of white, cream and silver…
…..adding white ornaments and cream poinsettias.
And here is the other side of the table…
There is a set of three crystal candlesticks…a compote of cotton…and a silver tree…
….on the other side of the floral swag.
The compote is Heisey Plantation…
…..started collecting a few pieces of this years ago…then they became a tad pricey….
And now let’s move over to a small accent table next to my “bee chair”….
There sits my little Waterford lamp and commemorative crystal ball from the Millennium…
…..along with my blue transferware “potty bowl”…
And my Norman Rockwell figurine…
I just love White Cyclamen this time of year…
And one more table….
Placed a topiary in a Spode bowl…purchased at HomeGoods…
….with my pal Suzy from Worthing Court…
And my “French Hen”..from a 12 Days of Christmas series….
Just love her!!
