Fall Memories and a Spiritual Experience

Today, I am having one of my best days

since my chemotherapy treatment.  I am not 100%,

still with fatigue and such, however,

well enough to sit at the table

and write to you my dear readers.

I had a truly amazing spiritual experience one night,

that involved my dad.

That overwhelming experience I will explain

at the end of this post.

Because this experience involved my dad, I remembered

a post that I did a few years ago honoring him.

Autumn is a very special time for me and my family.

It was my dad’s favorite time of the year,

a time of harvest (he was an Iowa farm boy) and

Thanksgiving, when all of the family

and extended family gathered together.

My Dad once said, that if he won the Lotto,

the very first thing he would do,

was to buy a house that had a very, very large dining room,

so that the entire family

could sit at one long table.

At a table where we would laugh till we cried,

telling our stories that sometimes our parents never heard!

Antique Bamboo Tables Added to the Dining Room

Hello Dear Readers!

Hope you all had a great Memorial Day Weekend!

We traveled to Florida to attend my Great Niece’s graduation and the added bonus

of visiting with my mom and my siblings and their families.

On my way down we stopped off I-95 to meet up with our dear friends to have

lunch and to pick up some great pillows

that my friend JoAnn had picked up for me.

You shall see those pillows at a later date.

When there is time,

I always try and stop at one of my favorite shops on the way home.

The Plantation Shop, on Amelia Island, Florida.

I always find some treasures there

and this time was no exception. My purchase led to:

The First Room Reveal at Berry Patch

Hello Dear Readers!

Things here at the Berry Patch house are coming along.

I am still surrounded by boxes to unpack . . . and items waiting in the wings

to find a new home . . . or be banished to the “STORE ME ROOM”.

Even though some of this is not a fun task,

I must say I am having fun trying to figure out furniture arrangements

and where I want to hang artwork and pretties.

Today, I shall present the first room reveal at Berry Patch, a.k.a. the rental house.

The Dining Room.

Dining Room Refresh and Changes

We decided that we should think about reducing the items on the wall in the dining room

to make it look less cluttered. So as much as I hated to, the shutters on each side

of the the bay window area came down along with the vintage brackets/corbels

and the Paris paintings that were hung next to the hutch.

I must say, that it opened up the room . . . which also led to me doing some

tweaking of the dining room hutch.

So here we go with the:
