How to Beautifully Decorate a Small Porch for Fall

Hi Housepitality Design readers! I’m Kim and I blog at Savvy Southern Style.

While my friend Shirley is recuperating I thought I would share how I have decorated my small front porch

for fall in the past. I would love a big southern porch like Shirley’s,

but I have a small stoop. That doesn’t mean I can’t dress it up.

Fabulous bHome Fall Porches and A Giveaway Winner

The other day I participated with many of my bHome friends and bloggers

in a Fall Inspiration Tour.

On that tour I presented one of my porches dressed for Fall.

Today I would like to share the porches that were on the tour

which will be sure to give you some great ideas to “fall-i-fy” your porch too.

First up is Debbie, from Debbie Doo’s

I love the fact that she painted her rockers a sunny yellow

which makes her front porch just pop with amazing color.

Oh that Laura of Duke Manor Farm (formerly Top This Top That)

and her amazing porch that I would love to emulate

with the gorgeous shades of blue. I just may need to paint my ceiling blue too!

Ann of On Sutton Place has such a warm and cozy porch.

Ann is a very talented lady and I must say that I own quite a few of her fabulous

pillows and other sewing projects.

She shows us how she displayed her mums in wonderful olive buckets.

Kim, from Savvy Southern Style recently added a pergola to her back deck

courtesy of Mr. Savvy. Of course soon after the pergola was in place,

Kim created a beautiful outdoor room and now it is beautifully dressed for Fall.

Last week, I reviewed a home decor book, “French Accents”

by my friend and fellow blogger Anita Joyce of Cedar Hill Farmhouse.

2014 Fall Front Porch

HAPPY FALL Y’ALL !!!!

Fall is my very favorite time to decorate my front porch . . .

I think it is because I can decorate with the beautiful mums and pumpkins of the season.

Welcome to my home and porch dressed for Fall!!

Double doors flanked by ivy topiaries and “double wreaths” welcome you.

How to Create a Fall Season Porch

As I was watering the plants on the front porch the other day . . .

~ ~ I was thinking of the next seasonal change for the porch.

Summer is no where near over . . .

~ ~ however, the kids will be going back to school before we know it. The summer is flying by!

I am already thinking of the decor for “Fall on the Front Porch” . . .

Should I line flowers in the front of the shrubs? . . .

Or just have a couple of containers of mums flanking the front steps . . .

Should the wreaths be simply stated? . . .

Or filled with lots of fall flowers? . . .

I am thinking that I should continue to have lots of pumpkins and flowers . . .

Fabulous pumpkins from the Farmers Market of course . . . of so many different varieties.

Pumpkins to add to the wagon of fall mums . . also from the Farmers Market.

And think about the accessories to add this year to welcome friends and family to our home.

Oh and pillows . . . need to get some great fall pillows for this year.

~ ~ or maybe recycle some from years past.

When I decorated the porch a couple of years ago . . .

~ ~ focusing on my monogramed burlap wreaths . . .

I thought that this was my favorite Fall Porch.

Until I discovered the Farmers Market . . .

And gathered their great selection of pumpkins and flowers . . .

To create my favorite Fall Porch I created last year

To welcome in the Fall Season.

Fall Front Porch…Monogrammed Burlap Wreaths

The wreaths are up…the porch has ushered in Fall…

…..but I am certain that I will be doing more tweaking here and there.

My friend Frances did it again…

…..she monogrammed an initial on burlap for my fall wreaths.

Thanks Frances…they turned out great…

I placed the burlap monogram on a quilter’s hoop…

…..and added some Fall embellishments on the side.

I love my faux pumpkin with the pineapple…

…..got it about 6 years ago in Colorado of all places…

……….my friend Linda bought one too!

I am keeping the porch simple…may add a few more pumpkins when the temps are cooler…

…..and a few Fall pillows.

We have had quite a bit of rain lately, so the mums are doing well.

I love this little guy…

And the turtle always makes an appearance…

I love placing flowers on the steps to welcome friends and family

I hope you enjoyed my simple Fall porch…..

…..wanted to show you what I have done so far….as next week I will be running the roads…

……….taking care of lots of errands…preparing for…
