A Fall Vignette with Antlers and Soft Glows

Several years ago, while shopping in one of my favorite furniture stores,

Arhaus, I came across a clearance bin filled with shiny silver items.

Upon close inspection, I discovered that they were long silver metal antlers.

With an original price tag of $49.00 each, they were clearanced at $10/each.

So two of them landed in my arms.

The Sunroom Vote

Last week, I posted on my Facebook page asking what accent color you preferred

in the sunroom. Red or Blue. I received many, many answers and suggestions

on which color was preferred. I took your suggestions and opinions seriously.

So this is what I decided to do for now.

Drum roll please . . . . . .

The Sunroom, A Cheery Place in the Winter

I can honestly say that the sunroom helps ward off any possible winter blues.

Even when the sky is gray, this room always sends out a message of cheerfulness.

Warming Your Boots by the Fire

I’m not sure about you; however, the mornings here definitely have crispness in the air.

Not quite time to light the fires though.

However, we can pretend can’t we?

Pretend to warm our boots by the fire . . . even if they are made of wood.

Antique French Buffet Vignette

The other day, I revealed a new vignette on my mantel . . .

~ ~ and I took several pieces from the antique French Buffet to create the “mantelscape”

Therefore, needless to say, I needed to create a new vignette on the buffet.

So still with my dancing shoes on, doing the “vignette shuffle”, I started gathering items.

I added the French Trophy Plaque which was my very first purchase in France. The date was meaningful !!

The glass molds were another purchase from France that sit upon another French purchase . .

A French Country Mantel Vignette

I realized I had the same things on my mantel since March!…time for a change!

So I put on my dancing shoes and got ready to do “the vignette shuffle” !!

I thought . . . hmmm . . . not quite feeling the “summer mantel” today . . .

~ ~ as it was really hot today and do not want to be reminded of that!

And then, it is hard to do a “coastal feel” with the backdrop of my antique shutters.

So with my dancing shoes on, I took a look around and decided to go “simply stated French Country”.

French Country Mantel

I put on my french beret and began gathering things that I already had . . .

~ ~ either purchased here or in France.

The little demijohn was purchased here at a yard sale and I obtained the antique book in France.

Actually, the oh so wonderful shop owner gave it to me!

And what says French Country more than lavender!

Another demijohn was added to the left side of the “reproduction confit pot” filled with lavender.

I love the simplicity of this mantel vignette.

However, I needed something to tie it all together . . .

French Country Hearth

I grabbed the French Gathering Basket from across the room and placed it on the hearth.

Not only did I feel it tied everything together, but it also hid the “black hole” of the fireplace a bit.

The grain sack that I purchased on my trip to France remains in the basket . . .

~ ~ it adds another level of texture and color.

I love this little change . . . it makes my heart happy!

And speaking of making my heart happy . . . I am preparing to leave to go to the Haven Conference.

I made sure that I left hubby great instructions on watering my plants and holding down the fort!

Well, he does not need any instructions on holding down the fort as he does it so well !!!

So, follow along with me on Instagram and see what is happening at Haven!!

Have a most wonderful day doing something that makes your heart happy!!!

Changes in Attitude, Changes in Latitude {French Buffet Vignette}

Well, there is always one thing we can count on . .

~ ~ and that is change.

When I brought another French treasure from my stash to bring into the decor . . .

~ ~ I felt the need to change some more things about.

These are the boot forms that I purchased in France . . .

~ ~ Well, actually, I passed some up at the Paris Flea and when our host Alain . .

~ ~ ~ went back to get them for me, they were gone . . but he found these for me!

And they are my size!

I wanted to do a little bit of Valentine decorating . . .

~ ~ I usually do not do much . . just some little things like this vintage Valentine.

And a red flowering plant here and there…

However, when adding some things to the vignette . . .

~ ~ I realized that the beautiful iron scroll lamp would look great in another area.

So off the lamp went to it’s new home (stay tuned) . .

~ ~ and I added some great candlesticks that I purchased from the High Point Market.

Thought they were the perfect size for the buffet.

I was attracted to the carving and detail at the base of the candlestick.

A few things added, a few things taken away, a new vignette.

Changes in Attitude, Changes in Latitude!

Have a wonderful day! . .

~ ~ and hoping all in the paths of these winter storms stay safe and warm!
