it's all about the hospitable home
When we were building our home, I told my builder that I was all about the details.
What I meant about the details was that I wanted a great amount of trim work,
architectural details . . . without breaking the bank . . . was that possible?
What makes a house shine with its own piece of jewelry, is the details. . .
that scarf around your neck, the earrings that frame your face . . .
It’s all in the details.
When I researched my Top Ten Posts of 2016, I was not surprised, yet surprised.
I am sure you know what I mean. Posts that I thought would definitely make
it in the Top Ten, did not and some that did, was a pleasant surprise.
I want to thank you, my fabulous readers for your support in 2016,
and I will strive to bring even greater ones for you in 2017.
So we shall do a countdown, starting with the Number 10 post.

Part One of the HGTV 2016 Smart Home Tour presented a tour of the first floor
with the exception of the Master Bedroom and Screened Porch.
Today, I present the beautifully appointed bedrooms and home office area on the second floor.
You are in for a treat, as the HGTV Design Star Tiffany Brooks worked her magic
for a gorgeous color palette for each room and some surprises of smart technology
from the technology experts/companies.
Have you ever dreamed of living in home that was once a church?
Sometimes when I sit in a beautiful church or chapel,
gazing at the amazing architecture and stained glass,
I have often wonder how it would be to live in a church.
Well, that dream came true for one family who bought a church
and is currently renovating it.
Our media room is basically like a family room.
We call it the media room as we gather there when we have a crowd to watch T.V.
It is a great place to gather as we have a little kitchenette
in that room to serve food and beverages.
There is a fireplace in that room, so there is another mantel to decorate!

Anne is a talented artist, DIY’er, and decorator extraordinaire and has single handedly . .
~ ~ restored her beautiful home.

For many of us, we had a break this weekend . . .
~ ~ a break from rain and cold.
However, it started again on Sunday . . rain and cold.
Today was beautiful with a cloudless Carolina blue sky . .
I can only dream of flowers that will come . . .
Like the ones in my back yard last Summer . .
Or the ones that were on my front porch in the Fall.
But for now, I have to enjoy these:
Flowers from the grocery store . .
And flowers from a sister, “just because”….
