Hello Dear Readers!!!
What a way to start the fabulous New Year than with a
Winter White Flower Arrangement
with Good Luck Flowers!
And two became one . . . like the saying, “a match made in heaven”
or two souls became one.
Well I will show you today, how two things became one
by the generosity and thoughtfulness of a friend.
I had a lonely ironstone tureen. One that was missing its lid.
Until last week, when there was a package on the front porch
with a card that read, “I spied this lovely tureen lid and thought it might like to live with you!”
If you are like me, I am always looking for something different
to place on decorative items, such as books.
Or just looking for something out of the ordinary to use for everyday purposes.
So what do you do?
You put a lid on it!
I have been collecting orphaned lids in hopes that I can one day create a gallery wall with them.
We talked about the thrill of the hunt previously.
The thrill of seeing the item, enjoying it’s beauty, it’s character, it’s flaws.
Well I experienced another thrill of the hunt this week. Where was the hunt?
At a large antique mall in Strasburg, Virginia.
I am slowly transitioning my decor from Christmas to the crisp white of winter.
When I remove Christmas decor from a surface, I cannot let that surface stay bare for long.
In fact, I have to gather items right away to create another vignette.
Well, we did it again . . .
~ ~ as I said previously, I am going to name our antiquing adventures . . .
~ ~ ~ ~ or create a handbook, “How to Find Great Antiques if You Love to Drive”
Yes, the driving guide, as the prerequisite is that you have to love to travel 2 hours or more. 🙂
On this day, Mary Alice and I set out to Carlisle, PA and visited a few shops there.
