Bramble Showroom ~ High Point 2016 Spring Market

When I know that my schedule will only allow for  one day to go to the High Point Spring Market,

Kristen and I head to the Bramble Showroom as soon as we arrive.

The Bramble furniture collection  offers a great variety of styles from classic to trendy,

or should I say, the updated classics.

It is a very warm, colorful and happy showroom. The staff is always pleasant

and willing to help and answer any questions.

Welcome to Bramble.

Love the arrangement with the mix of the magnolia leaves, hydrangeas and lemons.

Great horse too!

A Walk Down Memory Lane of the Lucketts 2013 Design House

Today, I thought I would take you down memory lane of the 2013 Lucketts Design House.

The Lucketts Spring Market is around the corner so I thought for those of you who

have not seen it, or for those of you who had, you can take a peek again.

So grab a cup of coffee or the beverage of your choice as this post is filled with great inspiration!!

It was gorgeous…such a great group of talented people

had decorated the Design House impeccably.

So many designs from Farmhouse Vintage, Shabby Chic,

Industrial Chic, and more.

So armed with my “point and shoot” camera (did not bring the heavy DSLR with me)

I proceeded to “the house”.

When I approached the front porch, you see this:

One of my favorite things to do while at Lucketts is to visit the Design House . .

This year it was a bit more difficult to snap pics and it was pretty crowded . . .

~ ~ being that it was the first day of the Lucketts Spring Market.

So hope you enjoy this mini tour of the Design House:

High Point Market Spring 2014 {Bramble Company Furniture}

I was only able to spend one afternoon at the High Point Spring Market . .

~ ~ so one of my “must sees” was the Bramble Company Furniture showroom.

Before Kristen (Sophia’s Decor) and I met up with Courtney (French Country Cottage)..

~ ~ we made a “bee-line” to Bramble . .

Here is the eye candy we saw:

~ ~ you may notice a bit of a trend coming back . .

Saw these very cool and beautiful stands for vases. .

I cannot wait to see the Bramble Showroom in the Fall…they never disappoint!

Did you notice a bit of a comeback?…Saw many “unpainted” beautiful pieces . .

~ ~ of both furniture pieces and accessories.

Kristen, Courtney and I later met up with Amy (Atta Girl Says) . .

~ ~ and Suzy (Worthing Court) for a dinner and had a great time.

Stay tuned for more of High Point Spring 2014 . .

~ ~ ~ and someone who I was thrilled to meet!

I am working away on my projects here at home . . .

Have a wonderful, wonderful day!!

Home Projects of 2013

As I was looking over my posts of 2013 to gather pictures of my 2013 projects . .

I really did not think at that time I had many..

~ ~ however, I did.

Amazing what you can accomplish in a year.

I had a great year of blog related traveling too!!

To conferences (Haven), Country Fairs (Country Living Fair), and MY TRIP TO FRANCE!!

It certainly has been a busy year for me!

So here are my projects of 2013!!

This chair was my Valentine’s gift ~ it had a plain taupe linen fabric..

~ ~ I had it reupholstered and it transformed to a more interesting chair ~

~ ~ ~ that really popped in the room!

I recovered the bar stool seats.

There are some reupholstery/slip covered projects coming in 2014!

The following are some of my room painting projects.

Painted the master bedroom in SW Silvermist.

I love that color and painted more rooms in it!

The laundry walls were painted (SW Silvermist) and a decal added above the window ~ ~

~ ~ “I am thankful for piles of laundry, it means that my loved ones are nearby” ~ ~

The second guest/craft room also was painted SW Silvermist.

And speaking of craft rooms . . .

I purchased the Martha Stewart line of Craft Furniture when it went on sale ~ ~

~ ~ and it is situated at the other end of the second guest room.

New mirrors were placed in the second guest bath ~ ~

~ ~ I purchased these mirrors for I believe $12.50 each at a “going out of business sale”

~ ~ ~ ~ and painted them.

The Master Bath got a facelift of SW Silvermist too..

~ ~ along with beautiful crystal hardware from D. Lawless Hardware

And speaking of new hardware ~ ~

The kitchen got a facelift with new hardware of hammered copper.

I will be adding more copper to the kitchen this year.

With exception of the Great/Living Room . .

~ ~ we replaced all of the ceiling fans with chandeliers.

In the main guest room ~

And in the 2nd guest room/craft room.

There is a new one in the media room, however, one of the glass panels was broken ~ ~

~ ~ and waiting forever for Pottery Barn to send me a replacement (on back order).

Now on to painting projects:

Painted this chest in Martha Stewart Metallic paint (Golden Pearl).

The chest is no longer there..been replaced with an antique bench.

This table was originally a gold color with stenciling…

~ ~ painted it with Annie Sloan Duck Egg ~ I left the gold embellishments as is.

The table has since been replaced with a vintage one.

Painted the hat rack in Annie Sloan Old White, was originally a dark pine finish..

Along with this little table..

And this magazine rack..

And switched up colors and used Annie Sloan Old Ochre on the coffee table..

I even tried my hand at painting this metal shade in Rustoleum high gloss black.

And last but not least, my skirted potting bench project.

Started with an enamel topped table I obtained from Kristen

~ ~ and added a floral design outdoor fabric skirting.

So these are many of my Projects of 2013 . .

~ ~ and have many in store for 20!4!!

Thank you all for stopping by and supporting my projects this year!!!

Here’s to a wonderful 2014!!

Have a wonderful day!!

Black Dog Salvage…The Marketplace

Here is Part II of my Black Dog Salvage adventure…

Did I tell you that Black Dog Salvage is “Architectural Heaven”…well it is!!

In my previous post, Architectural Salvage Heaven {Black Dog Salvage}

…..I covered the front portion of the building which houses the architectural salvage.

The stuff dreams are made of!!

The back portion of the building houses The Marketplace….

…..a plethora (don’t you love that word?!!)..of fantastic booths of private vendors.

DSC00260

This booth was a rainbow of gorgeousness…

DSC00283

DSC00266

And how about these benches made from the tailgates of trucks…

…..would make great gifts for that well deserved guy!

DSC00285

Love the name of this booth…

DSC00282

Merry and I looking at the great “Refunked Junk”

DSC00287

Had my “point and shoot” camera with me…left the DSLR camera at home…

…..so please excuse the not so stellar photography.

DSC00280

DSC00270

I took a pic to show you how large this area is…

DSC00259

This sign and cow painting were huge…just amazing in person!

DSC00258

I’m in love!!!

DSC00261

DSC00263

DSC00271

Now this clock would have definitely had a space in the van…

…..I picked it up..then set it down…got distracted…and left it…:(

DSC00272

DSC00275

DSC00277

Love this lamp with the driftwood base!!

DSC00251

DSC00252

This ironstone pitcher was made in France….

DSC00254

We never made it upstairs…and I am sure there definitely was “more good stuff” there!

DSC00256

I came across a pair of these lamps…Oh be still my heart…

…..it was made from I believe a baluster…..just what I am looking for!!

However there was a couple eyeing it and saying how great they would look in their bedroom….:(

DSC00297

So here we are…Me in the middle and my friend Merry to the left and my friend Claudia to my right…

…..we were all smiles after visiting and swooning over this magnificent place..

For next time..as I have said…I will be there and stay a very long time…traveling with an empty van!!

My Anniversary is coming up…so maybe there will be a day trip there soon!!

After the tournament, we traveled to Poplar Forest (Thomas Jefferson’s retreat) with friends….

…..so my hubby could get his “architectural fix”.

DSC00255

I so love the beautiful area of Roanoke, Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley…a piece of heaven.

If you are ever in the area…Black Dog Salvage is definitely a place to visit…and bring your truck…

…..or empty van!!

Have a wonderful day!

Lucketts 2013 Spring Market Design House Tour

On my previous post about the Lucketts Spring Market…

…..I stated that other than the wonderful antiquing, I so enjoyed meeting fellow bloggers…socializing.

But for those of you who know me well…

….. you can probably guess that one of the highlights of the Market was…

…………….THE DESIGN HOUSE!!!

It is gorgeous…such a great group of talented people have decorated the Design House impeccably.

So armed with my “point and shoot” camera (did not bring the heavy DSLR with me) and proceeded to “the house”.

When I approached the front porch, you see this:

DSC00095

It says Welcome!

Can you see that gorgeous door against the wall?…

And on the other side of the front porch..you see this:

DSC00096

This area just makes you want to sit and have a glass of Sweet Tea!

DSC00097

I love the colors of this living room…

DSC00098

Each room was unique..Great numbered and lettered chests..

DSC00100

The Design House, as you can imagine was a bit crowded, so I took pictures quickly…

DSC00101

The dining room was located just off the foyer…beautiful!

…..and if you noticed, the same carpet that was on the porch is in the dining room.

DSC00104

DSC00108

As for many of the pieces in the house, this pretty chest was sold…

DSC00114

I thought that this bed in the alcove was so creatively done with the branches and bird cages hanging above…

DSC00120

DSC00116

DSC00119

So many great accessories displayed beautifully for sale in the house..

DSC00117

DSC00118

This chest is so wonderful and I know that many of you talented people out there could easily duplicate it!!

DSC00115

There were so many nooks and crannies filled with unique accessories.

DSC00126

One of the beautifully appointed bedrooms…

…..such creative furniture placement in this room.

DSC00127

DSC00128

Great “clock art”…

DSC00125

A view down the hallway of the upper floor…a pretty sitting area at the end of the hall.

DSC00121

A sitting room decorated in a garden theme…

DSC00123

DSC00122

DSC00124

DSC00131

Another stunning bedroom…

DSC00133

The furniture finishes were so fantastic…and I love how the light reflected on the ceiling.

DSC00132

DSC00129

DSC00130

DSC00110

There were four bedrooms in this house…

DSC00111

Even though I love the styling of this bed, in my mind, I was straightening the bedding and pillows!

DSC00112

DSC00109

Another cute area at the end of the hallway…

DSC00106

This chest was situated in the foyer toward the kitchen…I love that clock as it has “Charleston” on the face!

DSC00105

This room was located next to the kitchen…

DSC00102

The room appeared to be designed as a staging area/work room.

DSC00103

DSC00135

This cow head was huge!…it was located in the kitchen in which was used as a check out area…

DSC00136

As we exited the Design House, you go through an enclosed back porch area that was such a delight to see.

DSC00137

This was the other end of the porch…the weathered checkerboard floors were beautiful…

…..and it was hard not taking that dairy price sign home with me!

DSC00138

As you can see the table was sold..as so many of the items in the Design House.

…..the old restaurant sign was a real beauty!…

DSC00139

Well, it was time to leave this house….and too bad the clock was wrong, for if it was truly 10 after 10ish….

…..I would have gone out the door and back through the front to tour the house again.

Unfortunately, it was time to leave and begin our long drive home…

I am so glad that I was able to attend the Lucketts Spring Market, even though for just a few short hours…

…..for it was totally worth it!!..

Next year…I will be there for the entire two days!!!

Hope you enjoyed the Design House as much as I did!

Have a wonderful day!!!
