This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of participating in the North Carolina Hometalk Bloggers Meetup.
It was a great event of shopping, dining, and spending time with fellow bloggers. (A post on this event coming soon)
While shopping, I came across a great piece of driftwood decor…and it had to come home with me!
Changed out the coffee table vignette to a Coastal Summer look.
I felt that this driftwood basket would go great with the driftwood piece on the fireplace hearth.
Here it is in the beautiful shop that I purchased it from…(Summerhouse, Greensboro, NC)
…..I think that is Tom Hanks in the picture…he approves of the basket too!
I filled the basket with antique glass fishing net floats…
…..My mom brought them back for me from her trip to Alaska…
……….they were carefully packed in her carry on luggage. 🙂
My mom said that they were Japanese…and very old.
Just love the texture of driftwood…
Hoping the piece of driftwood my hubby found (actually almost tripped over) will age to this patina.
I gathered some coastal items that I had in my bathroom that I purchased from Pottery Barn.
Thought that these would be a great compliment to the driftwood basket.
Added this container of succulents for a natural texture…bought these beauties at Trader Joe’s.
I love Coastal Living Magazine…this is the January/February 2005 issue….
…..I kept this issue to show to my builder…
……….as I loved the “pineapple motif” cut into the railing on that porch.
He said, “yep, I can do that, but it’s gonna cost ya”!!
Needless to say, I did not get that railing….maybe someday.
Did you notice that gorgeous weathered chest?!!
This porch is part of a gorgeous home in Key West..on the water.
So that’s my Summer Coastal Vignette…hope you enjoyed it!
Have a beautiful day!!
