Falling for Apples – Floral Friday

Hello Dear Readers!

I want to begin by saying that my thoughts and prayers are with those who have been

so adversely affected by Hurricane Florence. Such tragic conditions that have impacted

not only our beloved State of North Carolina, but our neighboring states too.

We have been blessed to have not lost power or have any significant damage.

We have dear friends in South Carolina and Virginia that still have no power and

dealing with the rising waters. We are awaiting our friends from Jacksonville, N.C.

to evacuate to our house as soon as the roads clear for them.

So hopefully our Floral Friday will be a little bit of a bright spot in these times.

Today’s Floral Friday theme is Fall Apples.

I am joining my lovely friends, Lidy, Mary (Mary has also been in Flo’s path) and Pam

to bring you another Floral Friday filled with ideas that you can create for your own.

Their most beautiful images are below for the greatest floral inspiration!

Links to their posts are below their images.

So here we go . . . we are Falling for Apples – Floral Friday!

Fall Reminiscing, Florence, and a Winner

Hello Dear Readers!

I have been busy with hurricane prep, glued to the Weather Channel and believe it or not,

been making my front porch of the Berry Patch House pretty for Fall,

just to take it all down and put it all safely away.

I have to say that it is my favorite of all Fall porches that I have done.

Time willing, in between hurricane preparations,

I hope to have it posted on Friday….so stay tuned.

In the meantime I will give you a sneak peek of it at the end of the post.

Today it is all about Fall Reminiscing, Florence, and a winner.

French Antique Basket of Great Textures

I cannot leave enough alone. I was rearranging my pretties on my coffee table

and I decided to grab my antique bread basket that I found in France

and fill it with pretties.

A floral arrangement of sorts of many pretties with a wide variety of colors,

faux and natural elements, all to make a French antique basket of great textures.

My Fall Home Tour

Fall is definitely creeping in a bit in my part of the country.

We have cooler temps . . . well, cooler to me means it is not in the 90’s . . .

and I can see some slight changes in the color of the leaves on some trees.

That being said, it is time for my Fall Home Tour AND A GIVEAWAY!!!

So grab a seat and your favorite beverage and come along!

“Fall”ing for Blue for Fall Decor

I am “fall”ing for blue for Fall decor this year.

I am doing this for two reasons.

One, because I love blue.

Two, because I need to keep my interiors simple in these days

of being in the process of selling our home.

I was able to visit a couple of Pottery Barn stores while I was in California

and I caught some great sales.

Fall Decor Inspiration

I have not done  many Fall tablescapes these days as we usually have Thanksgiving dinner

at my sister’s home.  She loves to cook in her gourmet kitchen

and she can have 75 plus people in her home and it never feels crowded.

She has been known to feed that many at Thanksgiving.

I created this table a couple years ago and was vintage and Pottery Barn inspired.

Adding to and Starting a New Collection

I need to call the hot-line for “antiques anonymous” . . .

~ ~ seriously, I need to seek a cure from this affliction.

Or do I want to be cured????

I downsize a collection . . . and then what do I do??? . . . start another!!

~ ~ or should I say “many others” !!!

I saw this bottle in an antique shop in Huntington, West Virginia….

~ ~ an old Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Bottle.

This bottle was actually the first bottle I purchased of this color . . .

~ ~ from one of those great shops in Carlisle, PA…..A Sawyer’s Crystal Blueing bottle.

I thought I would place it in my laundry room with the other vintage laundry items, but love it here.

And with the added items in this area . . . I needed more vintage stools to showcase these pieces….

And a new ironstone soup tureen to add to the collection . . . one of the Carlisle, PA finds.

DSC_6882

The stool is so cute as it has a name carved in the top “Lisa”…

~ ~ I am sure it was made by a dad for his little girl…..or that is what I am believing!

Adding the velvet pumpkins for the Fall…along side my new sugar bowl ($12.50) … 🙂

Found these new pieces in Carlisle, PA too . . . it was a very productive and great trip.

Loving my new additions and “collections”….

I love this new vignette, but I also loved the previous vignette of ironstone.

~ ~ now off to refinish something to make these two stools “a collection” !!!

Have a great weekend . . . mine will be spent up to my elbows in paint . . .

~ ~ and most likely in my hair too . . . I always manage to get some all over me!

Pumpkins and Cheetah

What goes well with pumpkins….well Cheetah of course!

On a trip to Pottery Barn I saw their new Fall line of pillows which included their “Cheetah” pillow cover.

I thought that this would be a great addition to my chair in the great room.
