Repurposing An Evergreen Wreath for Valentine’s Day

Last year, as I was preparing to toss out my real evergreen Christmas wreaths,

I had an epiphany! ….. Love epiphanies!

I thought, hmmmm, I could channel Edward Scissorhands.

I did the same this year. I got out my scissors and cut the round wreath into a heart,

to repurpose the Christmas evergreen wreath for Valentine’s Day

rather than throw it away.

Fall Porch 2015 and A Giveaway

I know that Fall is approaching when I see the beautiful mums in the garden centers

and even the grocery stores. As soon as they appear, I have this need to buy some

to begin decorating one of my porches.

The porch you see from all of the rooms on the main floor.

Galvanized in the Sunroom

Galvanize. gal-va-nize

1. Shock or excite (someone) typically into taking action.

2. Coat (iron or steel) with a protective layer of zinc.

I was galvanized to taking action in the sunroom.

A package arrived and it was a birthday gift from my brother and sister-in-law.

This caused me to take action and do a little makeover in a corner of the sunroom.

Iron Gate Wall Decor and Vintage Garden Items

My sunroom, as a sunroom would, gets a great amount of sunlight throughout the day.

Because of this, I have to be careful on what I place on the walls.

Hanging items that I do not have to worry about fading, such as mirrors, plates,

and tole trays seem to be the best solution for this room.

To Honor The Best….

DSC_1713

My Dad…he was the best….

IMG_2576

He taught us kids…to respect…to love…to honor…

……OUR COUNTRY!

For, this country IS the best……

……and this week we honor….the best of the best.

DSC_1729

We honor those who fought for our freedoms….

……and sacrificed their lives….lives that could have been…the lives that should have been…..

……SO WE CAN LIVE OUR LIVES AND RAISE OUR FAMILIES, IN TRUTH…WITH NOTHING TO FEAR….

DSC_1730

BUT FEAR ITSELF….

To walk in the comfort of knowing that we can be the best we can be….

……to make our dreams a reality…..to hitch a wagon to a star.

DSC_1721

We thank you….our service men and women….we thank you for your service to our country…..

…..We thank your families for their sacrifice…..their loss…our loss,

…………of wonderful unselfish men and women

…………………….who gave their lives, so that we can live….in peace.

DSC_1722

To live in this great land of beauty and magnificence…..

…..of bountiful farms….of bustling cities….of majestic mountains soaring toward the skies….

…..of rivers flowing…..and lakes that sparkle in the morning sun…..

…..of babies taking their first breath..

…………….. as the beginning of their journey of a wonderful life.

DSC_1717

For this….we thank you….thank you for your sacrifice.

DSC_1718

I hope that my dad is looking down at me…from the beautiful heavens…and saying that he is proud…..

……of how I treasure my freedom….my country…that I live my life, to love, and respect, and honor….

……they way that he taught me…with the utmost integrity.
